And the dumbed down token black character, how do writers get away with this. First movie had Winston who was a character that just happened to be black, cool, this one has a personification of the "aint nobody got time for that" black woman meme...not cool
Actually they cut him completely out of the first part of the film in both 1 and 2 (despite the script including him and recording the parts for it). They also refused to include him in any promotional materials at the time, and didn't even add him as a credit in movie posters for 2 (or 1), having already been a 'star' in the first one. I'm sure you can guess why they did this. At the time they obviously wanted their token black character ... but have him play any major role or be promoted? Hell no.
I guess we're progressing. The black female character is promoted and credited, just an infantile charicature. Maybe Ghostbusters 5 reboot in 2040?
Looks good, glad it's a continuation not a remake
I think he watched the Ghostbusters 2 trailerDid you watch the same trailer as the rest of us?
Looks a blatant reboot to me. Just like the new Star Wars.
Quite a bit like most new Stern pinball machines then!If the trailer is anything to go by, this new version is going to be just like 90% of Hollywood remakes, fecking awful! No charm, no soul and formulaic as all hell. Just made to grab on nostalgia because they can't come up with new ideas and churn out crap like this. Little wonder the cinema is dying

Neither were x-files, dumb and dumber or zoolander. Not to split hairs, National Lampoon wasn't a remake, it is a continuation, as is Zoolander.
some things, fantastic at the time, now look very dated
Are you still lookIng ?I find that spinning Mario gif mesmerisingCould look at it for hours!
its never in a million years going to ship in mid march
In the horror genre recent remakes:
Evil Dead, ok
The Thing, bad
You sir, are deluded. The Thing prequel was never going to be an easy task to John Carpenter's classic, but I'll argue to the end of time that they did a decent job of it ..... at least until the last 'thing' scene.
The Evil Dead remake? A crock o'sh*te, compared to the original banned nasty of it's time.
So there....![]()
Yeah I just watched it again, the "30 years ago" intro and nostalgic shots of their iconic building led me to think continuation but the trailer does look like a rehash of the first film. Either way I'm prepared to wait until it's free on sky before I make my final judgmentDid you watch the same trailer as the rest of us?
