Stern Ghostbusters

well its a remake anyway, looks like it will be dog ****.

Chris Hemsworth is the secretary afik in this movie....please google the new stay puft marshmallow man :(

Visually this looks good, cgi etc, and the all female lead could work but even in the trailer there's too many jokes revolving around vaginas for me. Pretty sure there will be fart joke in there at some stage aswell

And the dumbed down token black character, how do writers get away with this. First movie had Winston who was a character that just happened to be black, cool, this one has a personification of the "aint nobody got time for that" black woman meme...not cool

everyone else loves the main villain. loves, and is in love with.
looks completely hilarious. pfffft - that cadillac-hearse! pfffffttt snigger etc etc etc jesus wtf

The main villain is the ghost from the ghostbusters sign btw how effing lame is that

Actually they cut him completely out of the first part of the film in both 1 and 2 (despite the script including him and recording the parts for it). They also refused to include him in any promotional materials at the time, and didn't even add him as a credit in movie posters for 2 (or 1), having already been a 'star' in the first one. I'm sure you can guess why they did this. At the time they obviously wanted their token black character ... but have him play any major role or be promoted? Hell no.

I guess we're progressing. The black female character is promoted and credited, just an infantile charicature. Maybe Ghostbusters 5 reboot in 2040?

I didnt know any of that, so thanks.

I'll put a pin in my calendar for the summer of 2040! :P

If the trailer is anything to go by, this new version is going to be just like 90% of Hollywood remakes, fecking awful! No charm, no soul and formulaic as all hell. Just made to grab on nostalgia because they can't come up with new ideas and churn out crap like this. Little wonder the cinema is dying

Quite a bit like most new Stern pinball machines then!

the new film looks ****.

the Pinball, from the leaked images i've seen, looks less ****.

I like the original films - they had style, like quite a few of the Saturday Night Live movies spin-offs.

I imagine someone at Stern was given the Ghostbusters license and told - make that. He/she saw the new format and said, f u c k that, let's use the original good version as our theme. This person deserves their salary.

The original cast were brilliant, Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd were particularly funny.

It's not Ghostbusters without them, and trailer's normally show the best bits of a film, so can't imagine what the rest of it's going to be like. I'll never know, I'm not going to waste 2 hours of my life watching it.

It'll probably make a fortune at the box office though, Jurassic World did and that was pants too.

Robocop remake was ****
Total Recall remake was ****
Muppets remake was fantastic
Point Break remake looked and is apparently **** - did anyone go?
National Lampoon Vacation remake looks ****
XFiles remake was ****
Italian Job remake wasn't **** but wasn't as good as the original
Dumb and Dumber remake had some good bits but best left in the past
Godzilla remake was ok i thought
Zoolander remake is getting good reviews - anyone seen it?

now a Ghostbusters remake, i think we all know what to expect

some things, fantastic at the time, now look very dated

In the horror genre recent remakes:

Texas Chainsaw, bad
Friday 13th, bad
Nightmare on Elm Street, worst kind of bad
Evil Dead, ok
The Thing, bad
Halloween, both bad
Dawn of the Dead, decent

You sir, are deluded. The Thing prequel was never going to be an easy task to John Carpenter's classic, but I'll argue to the end of time that they did a decent job of it ..... at least until the last 'thing' scene.

The Evil Dead remake? A crock o'sh*te, compared to the original banned nasty of it's time.

So there.... ;)

I liked the thing prequel to

Did you watch the same trailer as the rest of us? ;)

Looks a blatant reboot to me. Just like the new Star Wars.
Yeah I just watched it again, the "30 years ago" intro and nostalgic shots of their iconic building led me to think continuation but the trailer does look like a rehash of the first film. Either way I'm prepared to wait until it's free on sky before I make my final judgment :D
