I've left my wife and moved into an upstairs one-bed flat and have nowhere to put my beloved Revenge from Mars pinball machine so am reluctantly having to sell it. I left 18 months ago and it's suffered in my absence and will need a service - or at least the Start button to work and a new flipper button on the left hand side. But it is in decent nick and played really well when I was last using it regularly up until early last year. I'm looking for £2k ideally but will consider reasonable offers. It will need collecting from the Bridgnorth area in south Shropshire. I only have limited pictures which are included and a video of the boot-up routine.

I would take more pictures and a make a point of highlighting the rust on the metalwork.

A shot of under the playfield and with the glass off would also help. Price seems fair but looks like it needs some TLC.

Looks like a screw?!?!

Looks more like a hole to me, especially when you watch the video with the movement. With the white around the top being the clearcoat/artwork, has someone fitted a post in the past and gotten confused about where to place it?

It certainly has a few rusted over bolts on the front, I would be wanting to see under the playfield before parting with any money, also be aware the seller is a newly registered user on the site so may not be massively familiar with things around there.

According to the site he has not logged in since posting the listing.
Perhaps he has a life to lead.
I am about an hour away from him - and he has put on about collecting.
Doesn't sound like a scam to me.
He probably has a few DMs already. But the cabinet rust etc can be sorted but not a screw hole.
It is a players condition game, something I would not pay £2K for it but I do not think he is that far off in 2024 prices.
As he said he is willing to negotiate then if you are interested - perhaps I would send him a phone number and actually talk to him. A lot of folks prefer a chat.

Id be in at £1750 as I love this game, but that hole puts me off sadly :(

Appreciate the reply. Just thought it was odd, that you want to offload a machine, but the seller does not respond to asks and offers. I totally get the sellers situation, which is not nice obviously.

Well as of Sunday at 20:45 - he has not logged in since he posted the listing.
He obviously paid his money to become a site supporter.
Who knows? Perhaps he has sold it elsewhere......
Some people do not live on their computers/phones.

He does seem to be on Facebook, X and Linkein (whatever it is called) - all on google. I am not a stalker.

Hope he finds a buyer!

Hi all. So sorry for my silence. But the thread and reactions have given em a really good insight into how the site operates. I can assure you all that I am genuine, it is a real sale and for legitimate reasons as stated. Life is very busy (I won't bore you). I've read everything written and will get onto DMs next. I have asked the new owners of my old family home if I can pop up and take more photos and video of the pin, including taking off the glass, close-ups of the much-debated 'hole' and of the underside of the play table, which will hopefully answer all of the questions here. I will post later today when done and answer individual DMs.

Here you go with lots of close-ups, under play table shots, rust detail and one video so far. I have two more which are of test routines, but they're too big to publish. Will try again.

First video under the play table (not sure if I'm using the right terminology, I've only ever owned this one table for more than 20 years. I'm trying to compress the other 2. More to follow.

Cant believe you teased us then didnt even show the hole.

Going by the video where the hole is what has been added in the past and then removed as there are screw holes in the underside of the playfield.

Its a shame someone has drilled holes and added two buttons instead of Im guessing fixing the original buttons/opto boards, microswitch buttons well.

It’s almost as if like a coil pop up post was there at some point? The screw holes match a coil bracket?

No tease going on, I assure you. Now I think I know what you're talking about, the "hole" is a special feature where you can send a 'pillar' or 'bollard' up centrally between your right and left flippers to save a ball by pressing (if I remember correctly) both right and left bottom flipper buttons at the same time. The "hole" houses the bollard. This is the only RFM I've ever played so I presume it is part of the original design.

Looks like its had skill posts added in, they appear to be in/near the outlanes as well, i guess that's what the bodged on additional buttons are there for then.

Guess an Op did that for some reason, I know several machines had them from factory due to a change in licensing/gambling laws but were very quickly changed.

Its definitely not original I would say, haven't seen another like that before, and those crimp connectors used on the coils for the posts left in place aren't factory.

You clearly know way more than me about this machine and its heritage. And yes, there are outball lane posts too. I bought it from a guy who used to service the pubs and clubs of the Midlands and North, who had a workshop in Birmingham near the St Andrews football ground. He said he had bought 36 of them when Bally first released them as it was so much more reliable than any oither machine and easier to diagnose and fix with the diagnostics etc. Because of the reliability, he said he was willing to sell 5 of the 36 ... and less than 3 hours later they were all gone. I got lucky I looked in that window. I've certainly had loads of fun with it.
