Firstly, thanks again for the link to the image; it's brilliant and almost what I'd like to achieve (neo neo also has unibios menu - red blood on Metal Slug!...)Yes, everything there uses the original menu and options except for the FinalBurn Neo at the bottom of the menu as that's it's own static loader.
Correct, no other steps required everything you see is added to the 3.5gb internal storage with the flashing of the .img.
You can still use a USB too and that populates the choko list with that prefix in the above menu
Only thing I'm trying to figure out now is getting my laptop to recognise the internal space partition so I can delete the Mature folder crap.
Disk Utility isn't being helpful and is only giving me a Delete Partition option otherwise I think it's the way to go with this device for sure.
EDIT: Apparently this is an EXT4 conundrum, and you have to use the Choko Automatic List tool to change anything in this partition.
I think the non capcom/snk games are hit and miss re; stuttering/soubd issues etc (boogie wings has soubd issues unfortunately:-( as does Shinobi?)
I'd love to be able to edit the games like you; delete the mature folder and add in some games like Samurai shodown (1) and Super Sidekicks 2 which are missing (SS2 has the moat satisfying penalties and is also what I used to play on the ferry ride to Europe every holiday
Did you get anyone with the Choko game list tool? When I clicked on it on my pc (game list manager) nothing happened; it just froze.
Do you need to have your CHA in EFL(?) mode before starting it?
I tried extracting the .img file with 7-zip and can see that inside there is another image file and a small file (boot file I'd imagine).
Extracting that other imagine file you can then edit the folders etc, but I'd searched with no luck how to the rebuild to an .img file, then build that and the small file back to like it was originally to flash?
I asked on discord and somone said try loading Linux from a usb stick and then I'd be able to just edit the original file from there?
