Operation Man Cave

I went with hard wearing industrial carpet tiles. Bought a bunch of 2nds off ebay - about £35 was more than enough for the Shack, and a good few spares Have stood up to a lot of abuse over the last 4 years. And when you spill beer on them...which sometimes happens ;) , burn them with solder etc  ...you dont really care cos if they get too bad you can swap in new ones.

When I was uni they had this really cheap looking, hard wearing stuff in the residence halls. You could literally spill an entire ash tray full of crap on it, pick the fag butts out, then rub the rest with your foot and it looked clean again (well, maybe "clean" is over doing it, but it looked like the rest of the carpet anyway).

Well when they were in my kitchen it was Gazzas Kitchenkade but they're not in the kitchen now. I'll have to think of a new one. Don't fancy garagekade.

Think I'll go with carpet in there. You know, feel the shagpile between me toes!!

I look at Steve's collection, lust after the machines, the Snap-on kit and the space. I have full on man-envy but good for you, something I will aspire to. :)

Gaz, you can have Man Cave as mine is really just the corner of the kitchen. :)

Hi group
Progress has been slow as I have had to wait for mates who are doing the work at mates rates to fit me in. The plastering is finished and paint is going on. The sparkys pretty much done, just got to second fit the sockets and up lighters.
Ive decided on flooring. Im getting pvc tiles, lack and white to get the check going on! Unfortunately ive long since run out of money on this project so ive got to wait until payday before I can order those:(
A few odds and sods to do but im getting there!!

Looks great Gaz. I did similar with my garage and now I'm down to one motorbike there's room for more than the two pins I have in there currently. I need to create some waterproof outside storage this summer so I can get rid of the gardening stuff out of there and that will free even more space.

Hi group

Firstly an apology to a few people I've kept waiting. Dave Sibson, the targets I've still not posted to you. I got the second one off for you but it was another white rectangle one instead of the round one. Been so manically busy with work, home improvements and 4 month old baby, I literally haven't been to the shop to get the correct one. I'll endeavour to sort that this week.

Paul, due to the holds up in man den, the sttng back box is still blocked in by 2 pins!! I'll hopefully have that photographed for you in the next fortnight.

So sorry about that guys. Must try harder ;-)

As for man den. Finally got the floor down today. Almost there. Just skirting and cupboard doors and I'm ready to move in!! Talk about running on!! This was supposed to be finished in June.

So here's the pics with the floor down. The material used is a hard recycled 7mm PVC flexi tile, which literally lay straight down on to your existing floor, no adhesive and interlock with mini dove tales. Just tap them in with a rubber mallet. They are hard wearing, abrasive resistant, sound absorbing and just plain cool. They are from www.flexitile.com.

Then as the tacky piece de resistance I'm having this image blown up to the size of my garage door and putting on the inside of the doors, split in 2 so I can still open them, so I can officially crown the man den "Pinkiki Beach" :-)

An carrying on the Hawaii theme, I got this ex Blackpool illuminations sign hung in the kitchen where the pins used to be

Hopefully the next update will be the finished article.

Mahalo for now

You are as bad as Dan with your tropical themed pin den.
Looking good Pal and will be even better when the pin's are in there.

Hi guys and gals. It's been a while since my last update. I had to track down my chippy who was hiding up from me as he'd taken on a new project and mine didn't sit very highly on his list of things to do! Didn't answer my calls or texts for weeks. If he thought I was going to leave it be, he couldn't be more wrong. He was storing 2 of my pins in his garage, had my spare door key and left me with half finished garage!
All sorted now though. Just some pictures to hang and its finished. Oh and FH to finish shopping out.

image.jpg image.jpg

Not all plain sailing a few transport/storage niggles with the machines.
Taxi has left pf GI out
BoP has a dodgy battery holder and won't hold settings
WW buzzes loudly and makes a funny smell!! Bugger, I wanted to play that too:-(
Oh the joys of pinball ownership.

Fantastic looking games room Gaz, certainly looks different to when I saw it with the Motorbike in there (while I helped you move your FT!)

Maybe I should come up with a "theme" for my man cave :)

Cheers, Mark

Hey hey. Alright Mark. Thanks very much. Nice to see you over here;-)
Only trouble is, I've got nowhere to put me bike now
