Machine prices

I have been in this Pinball hobby for I think 2yrs now. I overpaid for my machine and based on what I sold it for I would have lost £1,200. That is fine, me and kids enjoyed the heck out of it and loved it when it was here, had it for around 15 months, plenty fun and well worth the money.

That's the important thing to remember, I'm always very pleased to get my money back on a machine. However I don't give it a second thought of I lose a little bit on a game I've enjoyed. Not because I'm minted either . . . far from it.

That being said, I'm not really in a position to lose £1500 on a pinball machine so have to be careful what I buy. I absolutely love every game I own and if I never bought another pinball machine I'd be happy with what I've got.

I like the organic nature of discussions and don't see any real problem which thread they take place in. Even if I had a For Sale thread it wouldn't really bother me if it veered off topic, people still know a Pin is for sale.

You're bang on, I'm the same.

I run a football forum (have done for over 10 years) and we have the same complaint if someone posts about player transfer in a match thread.

It took me years to realise that some folk like everything compartmentalised and others like the flow of a conversation.

There's a fine line between steering people back on course and regulating so much that people stop contributing on the thread.

The macmaster does definitely click bait on his EV videos.

Anyway I and the girlfriend are of the opinion we've spent the money on the pin, we play it a lot and it stops us wasting so much money going out just because we have nothing else to do on a miserable day and it's a cool thing to have in the house. It was never an investment anymore than having a big TV would be.

We're both pretty crap too so a few hundred games in each and it's gripping us more if anything. Learning new skills (and more ways to lose control of the ball it seems 😂)

Plus if this pin falls in value then so does any potential replacement.

I definitely wouldn't buy a machine on a whim as would have to know I like both the theme and the gameplay given the current market.

I bought a ccr le which I’m thinking of selling once it comes as I’m building a house and the materials have gone through the roof more then doubled since I placed my order 2 years ago
I have been in this lucky position before and these deals are the best orders!
No waiting 2yrs and full payment and delivery the same week.
This is the plan for my PF 😜

And an option to get one cheaper, provided the seller wants only what he paid for it.

We probably won’t get to find out as that ccr le will no doubt sell over PM’s.

There’s one left on PH for 12/13k I think.
What did the original orders sell for, £9.5k ish?

Yea I won’t answer any pms as I don’t have it yet and when it actually arrives I mite change my mind
It’s probably worth leaving it NIB until you decide considering the amount of CCr’s coming in!
Next year will see them filtering down similar to GZ that seem to struggle to sell now due to the large numbers in the community.

Expecting NIB prices for your out of warranty pin with x number of plays in this current downturn in the market is gonna be a big ask.

However on the flip if CGC actually release new code as promised it may spark more interest as the original was rushed out with basic code in favour of there future proof next gen pins P2k 😦
RIP Lyman, the man was a god of code in my eyes and would have made this no exception to his rulesets. 😢

Yea will see when it comes Only 15 le are coming to the uk so I don’t think many will come up for sale very often

Regarding new machines. Comments on CCR over on Pinside, seen on the Pulp Fiction Thread.

"some were able to buy CCrLE cheaper in the used market while others continue to wait on their preorder"

I bought a GOTG pro from someone on here for £5k. Not an unreasonable price for a 2-3 year old pro (£1500 off NIB price).

Newer Stern pros are going for £7k+ second hand now 🤯
7k is still £1500 off nib now though, ignoring the recent deals on a couple of titles

Couple of interesting completed ebay auctions today.

Machines looked quite tidy. The ebay experts will know whether they were shilled or not ...

STTNG £3,600

Who Dunnit £2,800
