I quite like jlr carsJust donated. Another 12 months of Jaguar Land Rover Group bashing is worth it for the money. I can claim it back as charity work.
Don't tell anybody, but I quite like them too. One day if they ever make a car that has a reasonable level of reliability and no inherent catastrophic engine failure design flaws I might even buy one.I quite like jlr cars![]()
Tbh I have had 6 over the last 15 years and apart from a a turbo failure (ouch!) after 160000 miles they have been fine, a few small things batteries etc. I put pretty big miles on them too, I think the majority of issues are likely to be small things as they are pretty complicated beasts in particular the range rovers however I personally think they are the ultimate all round car for me living in the countryside and you can get a pinball in one. My first car was a LandRover series 2a and I've always been a big fan of the brand. But I could never buy a modern one, I've read far too many horror stories of terminal engine failure caused by the crankshaft seizing, resulting in £20k bills. Too many stories of cars spending more time back at the dealership than being driven. I did come close to buying a Disco 5 last year but went with the Skoda Kodiaq in the end. No regrets on that! If people focused their energy into solving the real issues of today then the world would do a lot better.Best news story of the day https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-59981811 and why is this is car related, well if you own one of these then watch out for the "cancel culture" police https://www.mgownersclub.co.uk/mg-guides/midget/mg-midget-car-1500 the world is nuts, just nuts.

My dad drove one of those....semi auto push button gearbox. Was the objection to there being a car by the name 'Midget'? There are worse than that, such as 'Dodge Dart Swinger'.
Oh i do like a project lolCertain projects command serious money because everyone wants one, especially ones being sold with all the new parts to complete the job.
I’m at the moment contemplating in selling a project with all the new parts to make a nice machine. Pricing it is the hard part, I know what a fully working completed machine would be but to price for a machine just needing the time spending on it ? I know this is a much sought after thing a project that just needs putting together and old parts replaced for new. Maybe even more so than a fully working machine.
