There’s a distinct lack of machines up for sale and I’m wondering if people are the same as me. I’d like another machine but ain’t gonna sell one of mine till I find something.
If I sell one,ok I got the sale cash plus extra cash to buy another but it’s how long I gotta wait then join the mad scramble to be first in the purchase queue. Ken

Why not list what you have and what machines you are looking for. You might find the person that's wants what you have and has what you want. Long shot I know but until you try you just never know.
You might even nudge someone into moving on there machine for yours.

I’d thought of that but at the mention of I’m thinking of selling my ********* pin and looking for this or that i’d get loads of messages telling me they want it without any pics or price put up by me. (Since I posted my original post I’ve had 5 people contact me re what machine are you selling and how much)
Crap as it sounds I don’t know really what I’m looking for.

It has been like this for a while.........which is why i try to get a trade if parting with something. I could easily sell every machine i put up for trade but i am not doing it unless something is coming back in and exactly as you say it is incredibly hard to find anything.

often sales happen because you say you want something - what do you want?

I think it is a sign of the times. There are so many more people in the hobby now and there is only a finite amount of machines (despite Stern and others pumping out new machines regularly), that it is outpacing demand.

I haven’t been the hobby as long as some others, but I remember seeing a huge amount of machines come up for sale even just a few years back. It seemed like you could sell a game and know you could get it back fairly easily. But, I think with the prices of lower end machines going up, people are hanging on to these machines more, as they might not come up for sale with the same regularity.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk!

Big reason why I haven't sold Jurassic Park. There's just nothing to buy and even when something does pop up, unless you're F5ing the For Sale section like you're playing Track n Field then you're likely going to miss out.
F5 😂 Time to put the Nokia 3210 down mate and get a smart phone......

The sea off blue and no red is a little depressing recently, can’t see it ending any time soon either :(

there are machines for sale but need to look outside the forum more than you did before due to facebook/marketplace etc. e.g. wes hoyle has/had about 20 machines to sell, but not listed on here. i got one and i would have had more if I had room to store them.

Is there a list anywhere of what’s left :D

Anyone ever put up wanted adds on local facebook selling groups?

I did a while ago, not expecting any replies but got offered a nice Shadow.

Never know whats kicking around outside the pinball community.

Is there a list of good UK pin groups to be a part of? I hate FB but would join with my dummy account.

Some people just need a gentle nudge. If I was after a Pin and saw it in someones signature or knew they owned it I'd drop them a polite message enquiring about its availability.

Would it really be that bad to have one fewer Pin for a while until you found a replacement? I assume it's only used Pins you are after rather than NIB?

I think next year is going to be much more financially testing with inflation interest rate rises and energy bill soaring so I think you may see more pins up for sale not too sure the prices will come down
Also if production returns to normal then we will see more new pins available for sale I believe there is another container ready to ship from stern early Jan with various titles in it

Question is what titles are on the boat !

If people are potentially being forced to sell they will want top dollar so they won’t be cheap :(

wIth 95% of new games going to home users, the availability and price of new games is driving the market. For the first time in the hobby (since 1987) , I did not (or to be more accurate COULD not) buy a single game from a UK site operator all year. In 2005 it was over 200 machines. Only game I bought from the "trade" was Stranger Things that I had to import from Ireland. 6 out of 16 incoming in 2020 were new in box. Very little for sale. Great to meet up with Wes last week and see a room full of pins for sale like the old days. And to pick up one of my grails was a real bonus. I can see a better supply of new games next year but the price of an entry level game is crazy. I remember collectors saying now games had reached 4 figures they were out. I'm worried Back to the Future will start in 5 figures!

The nib market has totally changed since covid fomo and supply issues
Pre covid ph used to estimate how many games people wanted le premium and pro take orders and some for stock sometimes they would sell out often they could be in stock for years all stranger things model took a long time to sell as did turtles I believe there is still a turtles premium still available
In covid times it’s totally different most cases there is not enough games to fill demand available on new runs and stern don’t seem to make more after the first run people had to be disappointed with mando and Godzilla as not everyone got one and since mando release 12 le 5 premium and 10 pro we haven’t seen any more although there is 5 more pro arriving in 2 weeks I doubt we will see anymore Godzilla till September I do think fomo will fizzle out soon particularly with what seems to be happening with spookys Halloween lots for sale already and we haven’t even seen any yet
One thing I am pretty sure of is nib games are not going to come down in price any time soon but if things go bad this year do you think stern would reduce prices to shift games I am not sure
Sorry wrote this I wrong section now correct
