Have we really come that far now that buying a £2000 pinball machine from a well known member of the community means receiving a machine with legs that look like they came out of a swamp? covered in rust and tape? Odd sized bolts? Only 2 leg levellers? Completely wrong sized legs for the machine? Backbox lowered with no padding on the rails? Heavy moveable objects left to fly around the playfield during transit? Only one out of three balls provided?

Not naming names (yet) but definitely rant worthy!!!

Cue Ball Wizard. Both massive American Pool balls left to wreck havok during transit.
Hoping no damage was done :( sounds sickening. Honestly, only ever bought a machine yet with the right legs and bolts "twice" and usually need to replace the balls, rubbers, clean and wax and fix switches and niggles. I'm at the £2k and less end of the market, so kinda expect "players" condition and random crap. I would hope the pin gets wrapped and packed safely. Transit is the scariest part of the hobby, like, wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweats scary.

£2k is still a lot of money whichever way you look at it. The least I expect is for someone who supposedly knows what they're doing to take the minutes to pad the head and remove anything moveable that could cause damage. In fact I'm bloody furious that this wasn't done.
The legs situation looks to me like he just thought I'll have those and throw some old ****e in there instead.

Quite right, it's a lot of money and still needs to be packed for transit right and sold with original "belongings". Swapped out hardware without disclosure is a bit disingenuous.

I also agree.

Also worth mentioning good purchases as well as those of us who are new cannot always gauge the standing of a forum member. I have had two great experiences as a buyer and took the trouble to publicly name and thank.
