I’m at the end of my tether with this one.
In a nutshell, I’m fortunate enough to be in possession of two corvette machines. One working. One not.
I’ve tried all of my boards in the working machine and they’re all good.
The only thing that stops the engine passing test is my magnet and clamp.
If I run an engine test with my magnet installed, the solenoids pull to the left, then when the numbers reach a certain point it snaps to the right and fails.
We can rule out any boards, Hall effect sensor, optos etc…

I’ve tried rotating the magnet 180, as I’m aware its polarity is relevant. No different.
The magnet and clamp are new from Pinball Spare parts Australia.
How can a magnet cause this fault.
Any pearls of wisdom greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gaz

Thanks Tony. Yes I’ve combed pinside for every thread about corvette engine problems.
I’ve got a couple of things left to try next time I get a chance to tackle it again.
But I’m not hopeful.

I’d rather it was board fault. At least you can diagnose and repair those. Wtf do you do if your magnet doesn’t work!!!

Ok so I fixed this.

The magnet was orientated wrong. I’ll try and attach a video explaining it. It’ll have to be a YouTube link shortly as the files are too large to upload
I had rotated the magnet round but it needed flipping over. Which I don’t understand looking at the picture. You’d think it would be the other way round
There’s no markings on the magnet so it’s pot luck unless you’ve got a compass to hand.IMG_4602.webp
