I went to Retroids on Saturday too, it's a bloody fun game but it is a pound muncher! With a relevatively unforgiving ball-save, and a lot of fast, dangerous shots you can be out pocket in a few minutes. But when you get a good game going man does it feel fantastic.

Reading the Pinside thread it feels like every day there are new issues being reported, the latest being the below. I was lead to believe CGC were the best in the business for building games. I don't know what has happened/changed but over there but issues with optos, clear coat, general switch setup etc. are making me slightly regret putting a deposit down.
Outside of the clear coat they all seem fixable/replaceable so I'm probably worrying over nothing, it's just surprising to see when they took so long to start manufacturing them because they were supposedly ironing out all issues and nailing down the build process.

The clear coat issues really worry me, switch adjustments and dialling in fair enough, but its been well over a year, they really should have done better. Seems like they aren't being made with the same level of care as the previous titles.
Don't think you can blame CGC for that leg. Down to the powder coaters. Just a lapse in the process.
Maybe your right about the leg.... But its not just that, the magnet getting burning hot, clear coat chipping at the VUK and drops, briefcase and cellar ball lock issues, optos, some cabs missing holes for the coin door. Theres more than a few issues they need to sort, and quickly too.

For anyone thinking of fitting a playfield protector - 'Play field protector update. The magnet heats up just enough to distort the protector. It still plays ok but it's getting ugly when the ball rolls over it. I'm probably just gonna remove it and mylar the problem spots'.
Of course you blame CGC - they are the suppliers.
If ford fitted a wheel on your car that was warped - you wouldnt shrug and go 'oh - thats okay - its not Fords fault it is the company they contract making the wheel out to fault'.
I can not get over how many excuses people now make about poor manufacturers. CGC have let themselves slip over the last couple of years. Such a shame.
To add some context about the leg '...but did wipe the legs with a micro fiber cloth and the chrome started to flake/peel'.
So whilst ultimately CGC are responsible for what goes out their door, the damage to the leg wouldn't have been apparent to anyone at the factory inspecting it. It does seem like a one-off occurrence.
Depends how good the platers are, time will tell. Looks like adhesion issue due to poor prep.

Don’t normally see this on final product sold to customer. Plating done in house or contracted to trusted specialists.
Shouldn’t be any different on expensive pins.

I just played the Pulp on location at Retroids. Ate £15 out of my pocket before I realised what had happened. Great game, only managed to get one replay and a high score of 670k. The briefcase multiball has such a fun light show
Intresting this, as the legs were never powder coated from the factory. All models are chrome finish.... some billy bull going on here.
No one said they were powder coated.
I believe it’s the chrome plating that has come off the legs.

There looks to be quite a bit to removing the back box. If it comes to that it would be easier for me to remove the door. I think I've just got enough width to squeeze it through, this being wider than any of my previous Pins.
Measured my entrances, as long pin head not over 30 inch should be fine. Cardboard Box will have to come off outdoors though.

I fitted one to Dirty Harry and it has a hole cut out for the magnet up in the right orbit where you can’t see it, also have one on black knight (no holes cut out) and haven’t noticed any issues there on both magnets but I did have to extend the hold time for the ball to settle before release. Guess the magnet is much stronger on PF though.
Shouldn’t need a playfield protector really anyway, hopefully games coming here will be robust as I would probably like one

Everyone has been waiting with baited breath for an update on their Bad Mother Flipper Linited Edition games. Well here it is. According to CGC, its goal is to ship Pulp Fiction LEs…
“…over the course of late September, October and early November.”
According to CGC all 1,000 LE units are sold out and it is not accepting new orders.
Chicago Gaming will soon order the necessary parts for its next batch of SE Pulp Fictions, which is expects to ship out during the fourth quarter of 2024. CGC does have SE machines available to ship in July. The lead time is currently one week for regular SE machines and two weeks for units it’s with the dollar bill coin doors.
After July, CGC is going to ship international games. So any SEs ordered after that will be on hold until after LE production.

And I doubt anything is going to get shipped until all the BMF versions are built and theres enough UK SE's built to fill a container.
