Trough ejector solenoid rubber stopper fell out, confused me for a bit as getting failed ball eject, then found it floating in the cabinet.
Pawn shop ball hold solenoid had sleeve mounted wrong way round in coil. Again caused confusion and relentless waits when balls would not move from subway trough
Magnet switch was way off and needed adjusting, kept hitting it and nothing happened
All pop bumpers sensitivity was poor, still struggling with the top right.
Briefcase non return bar 3 out of 5 times prevents ball from entering VUK
Flipper set up imo poor and sloppy, wear on rubbers at end of bat was worse than I had with TNA and happened very quickly. Problem sorted by fitting precision bushes and stern clamp bars. Not had any wear since - photo shows wear on rubber, ive rotated them round so its at the back now
No sure the playfield protector I had fitted is suited to this game. Ive had lots of airballs from the 2 slings, lowered the plastic by removing the washers which helped, get it also off the back of the pawn shop. Not so much now, but it would fly from the right sling and dimple the left mirror blade, same with the left sling it would end up in the shooter lane,
I think the 2mm rise in height messes up the physics of the way the ball plays. But given the recorded issues with playfield chipping I felt at the time it was important, HOWEVER, now Ive made hole protectors I don't see the need for the playfield protector. As ive paid for it Ill run it a while longer but soon I reckon it will be coming off
Idea is to protect the back edge of the hole from
the ball slamming into it
Maybe the right one isn’t needed as much but we all love a set
Colour options. Red or Black
Damage shown without
Includes Mylar set for both VUK areas. Shooter Lane and Magnet. ( magnet already fitted , so its a spare or double up )
Sorry, had to increase price slightly due to briefcase mod, now also Mylar ( Vinyl ) in set
I really really enjoy this game, as with them all now they need a bit o tweaking and nothing surprises me now after spending stupid amounts on a brand new pinball game from anyone ( except for my GZ - That's never had an issue or needed tweaking )
Thanks for the info. Out of interest where or how did you get your Pulp Fiction? I thought only the odd one or two had made it over here until the big shipment arrives?
Useful info there @SeikoKid BTW protectors turned up the other day, look good.
Bit of a shame so many adjustments needed, was your game from the UK bound batch that got air shipped?
Was hoping with the UK games so late into the run most issues would have been sorted by now, a few tweaks isn't a showstopper, but still.....
I'm torn on the playfield protector, I do prefer the way games play without them, but have on on Mando, with no real issues, wonder if a combination of raising the ball in relation to the rubbers and the extra 'glide' contributes to more air balls, possibly worth trying the washers you removed under the posts??? thinking that would move the rubber slightly above the centre of the ball.
Prevention is better than cure and all that, but I don't want too get hung up on worrying about wear and tear. I'm just going to play mine and expect it will show signs of wear like any/most Pinball machines do.
Yes, just requires removal of the 2 VUKs which have 3 screws and 2 screws
The topside is a couple nuts and screws
All 3 are push fit. Just very tight tolerance, you prob don’t need the roll scene but it’s a set so why not?
The switch extender is there because it changes the gap set and don’t want to bend the switch in case folk didn’t want it anymore or chose to remove etc etc
But i’m here to ask and can vid call you through it if you need help
I had already started to get the edge damage on the breifcase VUK less than 30/40 games and I think Neil has too so , ultimately it’s everyone’s choice
I’ve been thinking about this since @SeikoKid mentioned the playfield protector to me, but decided not to spend the money. In the end, I think I agree with what you’ve said above, some preventative maintenance is a good idea, but the equivalent of a sofa covered in plastic isn’t for me. I also worry that the protector its self could slide back and forth against the clear coat and slowly but surely dull the finish.
That said, I’m defo going to grab a set of protectors and maybe I need some Mylar wherever this place where the ball drops is.

Oh yes totally, as I mentioned it’s something i’ve been able to prove unnecessary but at the time my inexperience felt it was a good idea
So tempted to whip it off but relishing the perfect surface underneath
It’s gonna be a bit like opening a jar of coffee , where you run your nail around the edge of the tin foil cover and take it off and a real satisfying manor
Yeah I get what your saying about nannas sofa, really depends on the amount of play your expecting the game to see, probably OTT for home use, but can always peel it off.
Really don't wanna see scoop wear in a few weeks time tho.

That’s the talk of many across the USA about this build
Hopefully I’ve helped to prevent or delay it, if i’m wrong at least I tried and for me atm it’s working

Sure seems like they will, I mean its a hard metal ball vs wood and paint, only going to be one winner, so having something sacrificial to take the impact makes sense.
