Dutch Pinball Exclusive

A1 Art… looks fabulous.
Wonder if those plastic ramp entrances are protected.
Look forward to seeing how it shoots.

Visually looks incredible, the audio so far not so good in my opinion, based on what I heard on the video.

Labyrinth style vibes here I think, would sit nice next to one for the world under glass games.

The difference with Labyrinth is that the layout/rules were designed by Bowen Kerins, so - having played it a bunch of times now - it's got a serious tournament machine under the pretty hood.

I'm going to make some predictions on this one.

It is 100% collector fodder. The designer who got away (from the 90s) actually finishes a game based on iconic unfinished artwork from a decade ago. It has all the memberberries - the upper playfield from Twilight Zone, the middle of the playfield from Magic Girl, the iconic Popadiuk magnets. Wrapped up in a beautiful package that anyone would love to display in their pinroom.

The trouble is that Popadiuk only designed two pinball machines that are top tier of Bally/Williams and Magic Girl looks cool, but is actually pretty mediocre. I think they're going to sell out of the 500 limited edition in hours, but there are going to be a fair few with <500 plays circulating around for the next few years.

Only 2 games..
CV, TOM, TOTAN. I would say WCS94 is also climbing up the ranks
WCS84 and TOM.

CV is notoriously 'very pretty and expensive, but just okay to play'.
TOTAN is completely broken rules-wise - I played it twice at Pinfest and got halfway to wizard mode. I'm a s**t player so that shouldn't be a thing.

Both of them look very nice though.

That’s where people differ..
I don’t want games with complex rules, I want a game that I can just play and have a laugh on.

Hands down..for me the 90s games are the best for that.
Yeah, but that’s not the point, is it? :)

My favourite pin is probably Fish Tales and we have TNA at home too - neither has complex rules.

No one’s choosing here between A:IQ and CV. We’re choosing between TOTAN, CV or literally anything else for the same price or cheaper. TOTAN, in particular, remains very rare and valuable despite having a rules exploit that means you can fast track to the end of the game!

I'd choose a TOTAN all day then get hold of matey for the 2.0 and nicely done colour dots.

Probably better to compare it to their last title.

They have had to explicitly say Jpop wasn't involved because people are saying it's a Jpop game? I wouldn't go that far, obvious mirror lanes but aside from that it could be anyone.

Edit: DP bought the design off JPOP, so yes it is almost a JPOP game, so weird to be doing that. He lost it along with any credibility anyway starting from episode 1. His Bally / Williams are very good though, full of charm and immersion, this isn't like that at all going by that trailer alone.

Shrooms are legal in holland easy to get truffles, I suspect they were doing a lot of them to be fair.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the art direction? Feels somewhat egregiously booby for 2024, it’s a bit WPT

It's marmite. WPT not that bad, you don't look at the Laser War translite either when flipping? That's enough to make you keel over laughing but still good game.

I can't pretend to know anything about the theme i.e. grown up busty Alice.

However I think they have created the colours and sculpts perfectly, the apron is one of the best I've seen, it will have unrivalled build quality and Popadiuk has games with incredible flow. It's an absolute beauty.

X-Men, Avatar and Alice are fortunately themes which don't massively appeal so my wallet is grateful.

Honestly though, it's one of the best looking games I've never seen and that Mad Hatter looks cool.

Same, less club skank and I would much prefer it
This stuff is PUSHED everywhere now. Just look at these music artists with their butt cheeks out on full display and lyrics which are straight out of the gutter. Soft core porn is pushed in your face every day now, it is somehow seen as acceptable when it is really bringing down the good morals and values that we used to have in this country. That's my two pence worth !!!
