Dutch pinball doing " Back to the future ? "

Just wanted to check in with my UK friends. Not sure who has heard what at this point. Here is what we "know" so far. Dutch has expanded into another building and has hired more people. Dutch is building AIW for somebody else. It's NOT their next game. BTTF is the next Dutch pin. Reveal in the fall of this year. Minimum of 2 tiers but it may be a 3 tier. Different from TBL. Kapow, Dutch, Bob Gale collaborative effort on this pin. Franchi on art. Lior on sculpts. All the relevant assets (minus Crispin Glover). All 3 movies represented with a major focus on the 1st movie.

I think we can plan on a price of at least $13000 USD for lowest tier. Y'all in at that price? I am!

Crujones hard to deny that you’re gaining legendary international status for your passion and promotion on BTTF 2, to the point where Dutch should probably give you a gratis top tier model in appreciation of your efforts!
I’ve heard (think kaneda) say that there may be 3 tiers SE, LE, SLE….$13k would be £13k in uk so would have to be price for LE not SE to get a serious volume of sales through in current market

Everyone hear the George Gomez interview (Kaneda)? Stern passed on BTTF?! Kaminkow tried to get Stern to make it and none of the designers wanted to do it! Biggest fail in the history of pinball.

From a theme point alone why would none of them want to do it? These designers aren't millennials, I would have thought BTTF would have been a dream theme to work on for a lot of them.

Think it was on Gonzo's Pinball Podcast, not Kaneda's?

I suspect there will be a good reason why stern passed on it one is probably that the asset s they would get to the film where very limited as they where in the first version they did with no Michael j fox to be seen on it and if you have limited movie footage certain actors won’t let them use images or there voices then could you really do the game justice

Not sure it will be a good reason from Stern but it’s certainly worked out good for all of us.

Stern didn’t want to pay up, wanted to do it with limited assets and use delboys van in place of the delorean to save a few quid, none of the designers wanted to do it with limitations.

Borg can’t have another flop, Elwin and Jack know better than to do a theme like that with half the stuff missing.

I’ve also heard that Stern passed on Harry Potter before it went to JJP. Theme wise I’m more excited for BTTF, but from a financial perspective I think that’s a bigger fail if true.

No one has said anything about Potter but it was said a while back the designers did not want to do BTTF with the limitations they would have had.

Let’s be honest with Stern it’s always about the dime, would it really surprise anyone if Stern passing on Potter was for the same exact reason.

BTTF, Potter, Indy (the trilogy not the other two garbage films), Toy Story (the trilogy) are just a few franchise you can’t afford to **** up, TS4 cost JJP a few quid on that **** up.

David Fix speech at Pinfest.. he did say that a certain Boy wizard licence cost $1M that a certain Pinball Manufacturer paid..
