Dune, by Barrels of Fun

Whats going on with the bottom left wireform? Looks like the ball launches from the kickout which must give it some air to land on the start of the wire form. Also has this on it.

This bit seems pretty interesting. Seems like the ball has 3 options? Either go through fine without the claw active (red path), loop around and land in the green torture box (green) or just drain if the green hole is closed.

Not a 100% sure if there is even an entrance at the little torture box device there or if its a virtual ballsave/test?

Looks epic with the apron mural and sandblasted rails.

Think it looks really good. Nice for once not having a playfield looking like some kid has spilt his colouring set over it. Nice and subtle.

My mate is currently working on the movie Dune 3. There are 7 in the series but not sure if they'll all be movies.

Layout reminds me a lot of Congo, but with way more shots.

Interested to flip one and see how it feels
You saying that just because there's a mass of stuff on the top right where the volcano is on Congo? I can't see any other similarities

Right ramp same place up into some plastic which looks a bit volcano-ey

The spinner shot comes around to upper flipper like the Gray lane

Upper flipper in a similar place with shots off into that top corner

Shot where the mystery hole is on Congo - at first glance I thought it was a saucer but it’s a rollover switch

Some kind of lane where the hippo lane is

There are way more shots packed into Dune and plenty of differences but I can see a lot of bones from Congo

Same feed from plunger

Left ramp feed to right flipper

stand up targets opposite upper flipper

They are remarkably similar - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. IM and Metallica are very similar as well but play completely differently. Along with so many other examples.
Time will tell what it's like once we get to actually play it.

Interesting read

Hello Wonderful Distributors,
The time is FINALLY here to release our next title which is based on Legendary’s recent Dune franchise. This title truly is epic and yes, the worm eats the ball.
I apologize for the short time frame, but market forces have necessitated the accelerated schedule. The teaser video will go live at 6:30 pm CDT. Here is the link to the assets:
We will be taking direct orders as well for only 300 of the 1,000 machines in this edition, the remaining 700 will come through Distributors. If there are machines left at the end that are not ordered by distributors, we reserve the right to open direct sales again.
We are taking orders from you now. Please email your positioning orders ASAP and I will put them in they system. For this release, we will be allocating units. The first ones will go out next week. The allocations will be based on your rank order of business from Labyrinth sales, and how many machines are in your initial order. However, we will be prioritizing these other considerations: 1. Any order that includes a NEW Labyrinth order with the Dune machine order moves to the front of the allocation cue (deposits on account currently are not eligible). 2. Since we were unable to launch at a specific pinball event, pinball shows, and location sales will also take priority in the allocation. Please put the show or verifiable (location URL) on your order. 3 for who you are ordering for. Your BOL will need to match. We will make best effort to get a sample game to every Distributor that has fulfilled their current Labyrinth machine orders in the next 8 weeks.
The production line is still spinning up so it will take about 4 weeks for it to get to full speed. Our current plan is to ship all of the Dune units by the end of the year (unless there is a parts issue).
This time around we will not be shipping accessories with the machines. Accessories will ship separately. You will be able to order them directly from the website for shipment to you or directly to your customer. We will not take pre-orders on accessories. They will be available when they arrive at the factory. You will get further information about this later this spring. By separating the machine order invoices from accessories, it will make it simpler for us and for you to track. In the future all we will need is the customer’s BOL from you (no pack out sheet). We will continue to drop ship for you at no additional charge. We are also working on additional online tools for you to know what you have on order and what has shipped that will roll out later this year.
There will be an accessory set that has a Crysknife shooter rod as well as molded sling’s and drains to accessorize machines with. There will also be an additional alternate backglass and an animated topper later this year.
To up the value of our machines, we are now including a shaker motor: (Thunder Down Under), glare free glass (Infinity Glass), and high gloss premium art decals (EverGloss Decals). This is over a $1,000 perceived value increase to the machine.
We are producing the best value in pinball for your customers as our machines are equal to or surpass all of the competition’s highest trim lines at well below the competitor’s pricing.
As to the price increase this year: We had hoped to have just a modest price increase this year, but the current economic conditions have caused our prices to skyrocket as not only do the electronics, light boards and power supplies come from China but so does the extensive molded toys in the game (18 different molds with some in gang molds). This is more detail than any other manufacturer and we dare say it’s a planet under glass… We have kept your margin the same, even though with our price increase and additions to the game it has put pressure on ours. In addition, we have raised the non-refundable deposit to $2,000. All deposits will be $2,000 for this release.
I will be putting in the positioning orders and working the allocations while for billing and future orders, you will be working with Rebecca van Es. However, you can always reach out to me if you have a question. Please email me back your positioning orders ASAP.
We appreciate your business, support, and trust in our products, and we look to many years of combined partnership together. Please let me know what questions you have.
Do not start taking orders until the published time above.

nice irony taking from a layout based on a monkey movie at same time Stern release one

Congo is great but flopped originally due to poor reception of the film

Good luck to Barrels of Fun. More pinball is good

There seemed to be a distinct lack of in-game sounds and music in that trailer, making it seem really flat. Also lots of focus on film clips.

It's doing nothing for me, Kong for the win.
I felt the same, but think Stern just have the trailer side of promo nailed, and straight aftewr watching a snappy Kong trailer this did feel flat, surprised noone from BoF picked up on that, wrong music and bad audio mix for a trailer althought im sure it sets the scene well. I'm still going to reserve judgement but think this will be a masterpiece with lots of unique shots and flow and gizmos!

Haven’t watched Dune or read any of the books, but this looks really cool- lots of interesting ball baths, actual locks and sculpts. Liking the LCD again at the top of the playfield and artwork. I feel like this is the benchmark JJP should’ve achieved with Avatar; instead of plonking a cheap amp suit toy in the game and a flat plastic tree. Hopefully this does well for BoF with HP imminent and Kong looking v good also
