Anyone been to the pinball museum in Brussels (Auderghem) ?

Is it worth going?

Anything to do in the area?

Thanks

Luke

there's a herd of us going in April, roughly 23-27th to check out the pinball museum and the culture, oh and the beer!

I'm driving through Belgium later in the year, so was wondering if it was worth stopping for a day there and checking out the place.

According to trip adviser the things to do are "A forest" so it is not the most exciting part of Brussels 🤣

I'm wondering it if is better to stay somewhere else near buy and just visit the pinball for say an evening. I have no idea, never been to that area before 🤣

People will be able to tell you at the end of April if its worth visiting and anything else to do in the area. I think there is a car museum as well. Most seem to just go for a bit of pinball and a massive **** up though. 😅

Mrs Asiapinball is coming too and she is practically teetotal so we will be doing the cultural stuff too and hence likely a bit less on the pi$$ up. Will report back here on the other stuff.

I watched the Travel Man episode on Brussels, from the notes I took :-

To see
The big square (probably has a name, didn't catch it)
EU parliament building
Mannequin Pis

To visit
Mini Europe
Atomium
A puppet show
Chip museum
Train museum
Comics museum

To eat
Waffles
Mussels
Chocolate

They didn't mention beer, but that goes without saying

Didn’t go to the pinball museum but have been to Brussels.

If you want a proper local beer experience then you can take a short and very affordable tour of this brewery where they make Lambic and Gueuze style, bit of an acquired taste if you normally drink lager but definitely a unique experience: https://www.cantillon.be/visites?lang=en it’s close to public transport links or just take a cab.

For a relatively cheap but filling eat, Amadeo is a famous rib restaurant (there are a few around Belgium). They serve unlimited spare ribs along with a baked potato with a delicious curry butter for about 25€ and they can accommodate big groups if you book in advance. They also sell their house wine by the centimetre as well as by the glass/bottle so you only pay for what you drink. https://amadeus-resto.be/en/amadeus-brussel/

The frites are excellent pretty much everywhere, lots of shops selling them in cones with a variety of sauces (I like Andalouse - red pepper mayo)

It just keeps on getting better. :p

Not Brussels but If you are heading to the coast ports then a stop at the beautiful town of Ypres and checking out some of the World War 1 battlefields and cemeteries is a must.
The Menin gate monument to the missing with its moving Last Post ceremony every evening at 8pm is a must.
