Was hoping they would release something exciting next like a knitting or crochet pin, that's a shame.

nope, the 90's I was too busy I barely watched/listened/saw anything, It was work work work for me.

Why are we even discussing P3 on a pinball platform? It's not pinball. It's all engineering and no fun.
I dunno, has two flippers some some slings and pinballs, only difference is the pf is a monitor, I think they could make more traditional style games to get more appeal from your standard pin head but they do like to make more video style stuff I guess to make full use of the large screen.

Be cool to see a more ‘classic’ set of titles where the pf is mostly static with fake lamps etc… so feels more like a pinball.

There's lots of new traditional pinballs so I don't think they want to do the same old and I respect them for pushing boundaries.
I think it will take time for people to accept P3, they're obviously not going out of business and have a few big names working for them.
I've only heard good things about Heist but it's not something you get a chance to play so the word doesn't spread very easily.

dood I hope you are more aware when you are driving trains :D :D :D - not sure if you've noticed but right now there is a _huge_ shortage of games with one manufacturer supplying the entire planet. (Although CGC are now out of their slumber which is good and JJP moving onto Toy Story in March). Anyone making pinball machines can sell them for big dollar!

Neil.

No Arv, I wouldn't work for a bank for all the tea in China. I was busy building the first ISP in the UK which we sold for £66M and I got a beautiful slice of that and could have retired at the grand age of 26.

put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Hehe, You're an easy bite. Which ISP was it? Pipex?

For people just discovering Weird Al: Give UHF a watch as well!

Al's got fantastic potential for a pinball machine! Let's just hope there is one...

Strange theme the only thing I remember him for was eat it on the 80's which I thought was very funny but I was under 10 at the time ,🤣

I didn't actually realise he was still alive and going, but from a quick look it appears Daniel radcliffe is just started filming a biopic about him, so perhaps if timed with the movie release perhaps a smarter move than we are giving credit for

The P3 is a fantastic machine with so much innovation. And I mean real innovation. Did Stern, Spooky, JJP, American Pinball reinvent anything in pinball lately? I mean something big? Not talking about toys and other stuff…
Just think about flippers for example. Every company uses the same old flipper mechanism without bothering to change anything. Same old thing for the last 80 years.
Multimorphic finally changed that tradition. Not to mention the slingshot . So, instead of drilling the hole through the playfield and buying the same old mech, they have to reinvent it as drilling 4 holes through a screen it’s not easy. So all the mechs are in the apron. The apron can be taken out with a click and service on you desk. As every mech is in there. No more leaning over the pin cabinet.

Beside this, another big one that no other manufacturer dared to change. The ball trough! Is in the same position for 100 years along with the slingshot. Not to mention the space lost on many playfields because that ball has to roll from the bottom to the top just to be released at the top. Why nobody done anything about this? Commodity I would say. Gerry form Multimorphic reinvented the wheel here as well. No more space lost on the playfield, and no more classic ball trough. He put the trough in the middle of the cabinet, having the possibility to release the ball wherever the game wants to. To the left, to the right, on a ramp, from a vuk, etc etc. Not to mention that there aren’t 3,4,5 balls in the trough. You will find 15 balls!!! And yes, the games has a 15 ball multi ball as well. You can’t deny that this is a huge game changer (innovation wise).

Beside this we have the changeable game in literally 2 minutes. I’ve done it myself and couldn’t believe how easy it is. So for an extra 2-3k, you have a brand new game. All you have to do is to open two hinges and disconnect 3 cables. The new playfield slides in, your reconnect the cables, lock the two hinges, slide the glass in and there you go. And extra 2-3k and you have a new game. Even the side art is interchangeable in 2 minutes as the art is magnetic.

Let’s open our minds a bit and not be so conservative. Let’s inbrace every inovation in pinball because if we think about it, beside RGB LEDS and bigger screens and a few toys nothing changed in pinball. Everyone is free to buy the classic tables from now on but we have another option. For those that want to try something new!

And now I’m expecting a thunderstorm of hate comments, if you aren’t conservative you are against the humanity. Come one people! GO! My shield is up! :))))

I totally agree, even though I haven't played one yet... They're taking the risks so that over manufacturers don't have to.

That's only a good thing, especially with pinball popular again, this isn't a repeat of Pinball2000 where pinball was in its death throes.
They're obviously doing ok as they've made multiple games and each has improved on the other if reception to Heist is anything to go by.

We need more innovation in pinball, especially when Stern seem to focus more on different varieties of the same playfield layout, a theme stuck on, maybe one toy... But deep rules.
I really want a mix of that B/W innovation with toys, great theme integration with shots and audio. The only thing lacking might be deeper rulesets.
The one game I did think had semi decent theme integration was TMNT and I swapped that for AFM and already I feel I've had more fun even though AFM is a much simpler game.

Pinball is about fun and I think the innovation p3 have been focusing on is about fun👍

My only concern with Multimorphic is the future. I’ve watched a lot of their games and with the exception of Heist none of them really take my fancy. With the high(ish) initial cost, it’s a big risk to buy in to a system where you may not like any of the new themes for a while. As what I suspect is the youngest forum member I’ll always welcome innovation where it actually looks exciting, and if swapping a playfield is really as simple as @Hiltoncriss says it is then I think the P3 is an exciting system to watch. But with the current repertoire of games, you have to ask the question of whether you’d rather have something like an Godzilla and CSI in a lineup, or a Heist and Cosmic Cart Racing. Right now I’d go for the former every time. Weird Al is not for me - he’s just not my generation (and the only parody band I like is Spinal Tap!), but if Multimorphic keep making games and get some good licensed themes I’d think the value proposition would begin to tilt in their favour.

Stern did bring pinball electronics and software into the 21st century with the spike system. The other modern platforms (P3, FAST, JJP) have the same architecture but are not on the same level especially the CPU.

I think P3 just need to get games in locations where people can experience them. Their product is good but needs to be marketed a bit more.

Of course that I’m aware that the P3 won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but which pin is in the end? They aren’t mass produced anyway so if for starters they will fill a gap and with time they will release more good titles it can work quite well. I really enjoyed Heist as a title for example. And let’s not forget that every title form Spooky Pinball, American Pinball and Dutch Pinball are running on a Multimorphic board. So it supports three new companies as well not only themselves. They are here to stay in my opinion.

P.S. I’m wondering if anyone would throw a few rocks in my direction… I will wear a helmet!

Weird Al wasn't a theme I was expecting to see, but it could be fun. I've only played Heist on the P3 and thought it was great.

Are we finally going to get an announcement for this one soon?

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Everyone can innovate but does it make a good game?

the flippers feel spongy as hell and when you hit the ball there's no kinetic satisfaction and it feels like you are on a VPIN.

15 balls? what's the point? 13 in Apollo 13 sucked.

stern could actually do that offer just playfields to be swapped out. but you claim you have multiple games but all you really have is a less back breaking way of changing your game. If you have 1 chassis and 5 games you can play 4 players. If I have 5 proper games I can have 20 friends round (not really as I don't have any friends).
