Your favourite of the new machines at Pinfest 2024

Pulp Fiction. Enjoyed that. Boy it was fast though. 🤣 Loved the retro feel.

Tried the Beatles for the first time. Very low sound so maybe that didn't help, but was left wondering what the fuss was about. Just didn't get it🤔

Really enjoyed getting my grubby mitts on Iron Maiden, James Bond 60th, Meteor, Rush, the new Star Wars, Theatre of Magic and of course Pulp Fiction - the Ezekiel 25:17 call-out being nicely prominent.

Really nice to see TNA at the show again too, spent hours on the one in the hallway.

Super Mario, Cyberpunk & Forbidden Planet all deserve special mention; great games and an astounding amount of love and work to create them.

The American Pinball lineup was lovely, really enjoyed those.

Elton was stunning - I'd only heard the discordant piano from one of the modes all day when we were setting up, but once you get in front of it and start a game it's great fun.

Labyrinth I really wanted to like but there just weren't enough balls - that was the entire film for me.

Lovely to see the two Pinbots next to each other - I'm holding out for all 3 next year - and an RFM again ;)

Amazing show, great machines, even better people - thanks all :)

Jaws - iconic sound quotes apart from "we're going to need a bigger boat".

Hopefully it actually said "you're going to need a bigger boat" as that is the actual quote from the film

Possibly not as its a Roy Scheider line and think there was an issue securing the likeness rights for the pin, he doesnt appear at all in the artwork on the pin I dont think.

New to me was;

Pulp Fiction; fast and fun, cool game, good challenge, magnet by the watch is a great idea - if the choice was between refurbing an old game and getting this… this is tempting. 7/10 - I fancy one.

Galactic Tank Force; silly fun theme, only played a few games but looks to be done really well and fully featured. I like the character popping out of the tank and a good fan layout. Also the magnet locking on left loop to drop to a scoop looked cool - Better than I expected. 8/10 - My wife fancy’s one.

Labryinth - Amazing given it’s their first machine, looks to be on par with Big Lebowski. Flippers felt a bit weak sometimes but could make all the shots and no delay. Code seemed to have some good depth with Josh explaining various ways to get multiball off modes.. seems very complete 8/10.

Looney Tunes: Thought I’d prefer the look of this to TCM, but seeing them side by side preferred TCM. Playfield looks great with loads of shots from video, but playing felt a bit cluttered with the upper flipper and lower left ramp taking up a lot of space and cannot see the ball feeding top left flipper so kept missing it - 7/10

Also though not new machines, I enjoyed the data east torpedo alley and radical!
And 24 come to think of it.. 😜

GTF and EJ were both fantastic. Best American Pinball and JJP game I've played.

Girlfriend liked both too, particularly Elton.

So colourful, plays like a dream too (although there was a lamp board error I didn't notice it effecting game play?) Flippers felt lovely too. I've found JJPs a bit meh in the past in that regard.

Looney Tunes didn't work for long enough for me to guage it. 2 games attempted and both of them ended up with stuck balls (wire form and one of the VUKs)

Didn't get to play Jaws but enjoy other Elwin Games.

Very much enjoyed the Funhouse remake. I'd not played an original before so it was all new to me anyway, but the graphics and the lighting really had me along with the gameplay.

Managed to play them all... I was not expecting to like the ones I did...

Elton John - BRILLIANT game and a sight to behold this was game of the show for me.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Fine.... Needed to be able to hear it TBH
Looney Tunes - Enjoyed what I played but kept breaking (stuck ball, orphaned ball).
Galactic Tank Force - Loved it.... was expecting nothing and got a really fun game with really quirky gameplay. No clue why people dunked on this so much.
BBQ Challenge - Super boring, hated it (sorry)
Legends of Valhalla - Fun, mid tier game nothing special but for sure not bad!
Godfather - Pretty, but it didnt grab me at all over multiple games...
Jaws - Didn't wow me as much as I expected... Shot welll... I expect i need time to hear the game and work out what to do (like trying to play Godzilla for the first time without sound)
Pulp Fiction
- Super fun, great shooter close second place for me in the show...
Labyrinth - Disapointing... looks fantastic but multiple shots rejected SDTM and I never want to hear "Magic Dance" again..... I want to give this a 2nd chance in a less busy location as others seemed to have better games.

My 10 year old had a great game on that (beatles), started loads of modes and came away saying "it's not very much fun is it?" I totally agree, how they can want THAT MUCH money for such a sub par game experiance is beyond me... Compare that to Fathom, Pulp Fiction, Bond 60th and TNA.....

There is a gold version which is the exact same game but a lot cheaper, they did 3 versions going up in price and I believe the only difference was the metalwork colour. Gold, Platinum and Diamond, with the platinum and diamond having limited numbers made, pretty much just done for the Beatles collectors as its pointless for a pinball player getting anything other than gold, except for showing off, although you could say that about LEs now, if your not bothered about the badge get the Premium and have the metalwoprk powdercoated and add your own shaker and invisiglass.
