Which scissor lift?

Unpacked & set up in 10 minutes. Does the job. @Judderman @Ant-H the handle is secured with a couple of R clips & dowel, think I’ll rig up a fine chain & attach it to the clip & handle. It’ll only take a couple of seconds to unclip the handle & store under a machine & this will save me misplacing the clips & dowels.

Nice one. How’s does it lift?

Few pumps of the foot pedal, no sweat.
I think to remove a pin from a line up and move any distance you’d need the timbers set up like @taz turbo pics above as all the weight is at the rear but I can’t see me moving any pins around with the head up, so the COG will be nearer the middle to pull out of a row. Once out I’d shift to the back, to get to the car boot. If it goes high enough to meet the boot lip that would be a bonus.
Alan.

Don't know if these are available in Uk, as I got this in Spain, cost €240.
It has a foot pedal to lower, so don't need handle, which means can get it right under machines.

The heavier duty model has much a more robust, single piece of tubular steel, handle

It is held in place by 2 large bolts so can be relatively easily removed when storing the lift under a game

This model is much better/ more secure for navigating bumpy ground and inclines

send it back and get the one with the folding arm.

Don’t be daft. At most it’ll take a minute to take the pins out, same again to put them in.
Say it gets used 20 times a year, that’s 40 minutes off my life.
Packing it up, hanging around for couriers researching a replacement…
Got better things to do.

Maybe I'll chalk my experience up to experience & try another one - I may be shallow, but I far prefer the black to the yellow

a year from now you'll be faffing about with the thing wishing you'd got the folding one and my irritating voice will be living rent free in your brain saying "told you so" :D :D :D

Love mine... no messing around. Was a 2nd hand buy on the Bay for £100 many years ago. Fits under normal width pin but I like to store it under a widebody.

Are these just for moving them around - or could you actually leave on there so you could move it around whilst working on it (should the need arise).
I had Cosmic Gunfight on a table in my shed when was prepping it for stencils - it occurs to me it would have been easier doing it if it had been on a "wheely thing". (I daresay when refitting the lower cab it would have made life easier too)

used mine to hold it whilst doing refurb. mine is the shorter bed 150kg one, with a non fold handle. but still holds the cab just fine.

Sounds like you want to keep it on there without legs on whilst working on it... Last thing you want to do is topple a machine off one of these and for you to be underneath it, so I wouldn't.

Urgh - see this is what I get for looking around for too long. Ive also found this one - which is manual rather than hydraulic, but has a larger bed - 1000x800.
No handle to wheel it about but not sure thats a big deal.
Decisions decisions :)

Get one with a handle, it's way too easy to push a machine off the bed as they slide very easily. Plus a handle gives you more manoeuvring control for tight spaces or uneven ground.

i wouldn’t go for that.

Had anyone used any of these lifts on carpet? Most of the wheels are very small so I suspect would just dig in if not on a hard floor?

You could have asked and I would have demo'ed...!

Mine is fine on the Daventry carpet and the wheels are not that small... they have to be able to take the weight.
