I know this topic has been covered previously as I've been browsing old threads, just wondering if there's any new ideas as after pulling out a TAF & loaning out the MM I'm in some discomfort due to being riddled wth arthritis. Done a bit of browsing, it's a minefield. some prices in £ks, other forums, handles etc fouling, platforms too small...
come on guys, make it easy for me. basically BUY THIS ONE!
Cheers, Alan

There is a 150kg one on a previous thread somewhere that was sold second hand.

I can't remember the brand but they are £180 new

just remember, the higher weight rated ones, weigh a hell of a lot more than the standard 150kg versions.
This is good advice I have a 150 kg one and it’s really heavy on it’s own, it’s done everything I’ve ever asked it to do

I’ve been thinking of getting one of these for a while as well. Ideally I’d like one that doesn't need the lock down bar to be held down to help balance it.

Looking at the overall weight difference between a 150 kg trolly and a 250 kg one, its only 2 kg (43 kg) in overall weight. The overall weight on the 300-500 kg lifting trolleys on the other hand is nearly double at 73 kg 😮

If your pulling a game out a row with the head up (naughty) it will just about balance on it so need to hold the game down a bit via lock down bar.
If the head is down, do you still need to hold down the lock down bar to balance it?

my 150kg one will lift a pin from the rear but not from the front. No issue to me as I slide them on my laminate floor using felt furniture cups

If you want one to lift from the front, it needs to be one of the ones with a longer lifting plate - mine is the 70cm X 45cm size. I guess that 250kg one will be the same as same plate size

This one seems pretty good. Free delivery as well.
Unless I can find any others it might be this one, only !kg heavier, same platform size. Pity it's made in China as I'm trying to do my bit in knocking them off their path to world domination.

The 150kg weighs enough, hate to have to lift the 250kg one.

I move pins from the front with my 150 kg one, some pins easier than others. Easy enough just to get them out of the line up just need to push down on the lockdown bar or you can lift the front and slide out with back legs touching the floor with most of the weight taken off them.

Also good as a table when fully raised for tools, parts etc.

It’s actually slightly cheaper if you buy direct from their website (£285). It’s only 2 kg heavier in overall weight as well when compared to the one that can lift 150 kg.

I think most of the cheaper ones will be made in China.

I must have been thinking the 300kg plus one then as when I was looking the next one up was double the weight but sure it was 250kg version.

Seem expensive these days like everything else but still worth it, no need for any help with these.

Ordered direct, thanks for the nod. I’ll post a review here when I get it so you (and others) can make a decision.

On a side note WTF is this? Are we supposed to tip supermarket cashiers, shoe shops etc?
Or am I a tight b’stard?

Thanks for the help guys.

Alan.

they don't forget

That’s why I like to use cash wherever possible, nothing to remember. Ordered a couple of meals & drinks in a boozer last week, got my wallet out to pay cash as she handed the PDQ over.
“We don’t take cash, does the person you’re with have a card?”
Me. “I’ve got cards, it’s the principle”. Walked out.
Missus wasn’t too happy, but hey ho.

For the life of me I can't find the one I got for like £200 back in May last year and I really did have a dig for you...

Prices look to have shot up everywhere.

I did find this one:

I'd be interested in your experience - I got one of those DirtyPros last year. When it arrived, the pump wouldn't lift the table - I tried following the instructions (which appear in more than one place & seemed to contradict each other), but couldn't get it to work. The service provided by them was great - they sent me a bottle of hydraulic fluid for free.

Topped the cylinder up & it would raise the platform, but then it wouldn't go back down again (plus I got hydraulic fluid all over the floor). I don't know whether it was faulty or I was just inept, but they had it picked up for return & refunded my money with no hassle. DirtyProTools service excellent, DirtyPro tools, not so much.

the downside with the one you’ve ordered vs the yellow one is that the yellow one folds flat and you can store it under a game / the black one does not.

It does detach very easily, though. Not ideal, but I would have coped.

I have a 150Kg lift table, makes life so easy, I did look at larger capacity ones, but they were a bit on the wide side and wouldn’t fit between the legs of some of my machines.

As to lifting with the head up, I’ve never had an issue, however I don’t just ram it under, jack up and pray I don’t destroy the cabinet base, the machine bases are not parallel to the floor anyway so it wouldn’t seem the best way to lift. I use some 3” x 2” timbers, two at the back, one at the front, lifts nice and level and with the extra depth as per the picture there is no overbalanced machine dragging it’s **** in the floor.
