What is a pin really worth! Super Minty TAF 5k MAX! (Trying to stop de-railing a thread

I was talking to an operator in Swanage years ago who told me he threw a TOTAN on a bonfire. Back then they had no way of getting rid of them and TBH before the advent of the internet we as punters would have had difficulty finding one to buy!
Wow, that's really funny, it's strange how things change with value up and down over time.

I love TAF.. magnets, revolving bookcase, thing coming out of the box.. thing flipper that shoots it’s self! Cutting edge in 1992!

It’s a classic and has a place in any collection..
that’s my opinion…. anyone wanna buy my TAGF!? 😉
Hi Dave. If a normal one is 5k I would offer 6k for your gold. Do we have a deal? Can collect now! :))

If TAFr comes out I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Would stump up far more than for a CC.
My TAF will almost certainly be the last game I ever sell. It’s not the best game I own but it has so much nostalgia and the cabinet artwork etc is pretty much perfect.
Weirdly though I have literally zero interest in ever owning a TAFgold.

Don't see the appeal, played it loads and it's a decent pin but there's literally loads of better ones can be had for lesser cash monies... Don't have any nostalgia for the game so that's a factor. 3-4k rough 4-5k players, 5-6k nice but for that money I can think of 20+ pins I'd rather have.

A perfect example of what some are willing to pay for a TAF. Absolute madness. There was a players one on eBay for 8.5 with bids on only yesterday.

Call it a “project” and include links for a new playfield and cab. Then watch as people bid themselves into a frenzy and send it to 6k.

Seriously, if this had a £1 start bid on eBay it would almost certainly hit 5k. Despite all the haters TAF will always be the gateway pin for so many people. It’s tied up with when they were young and in their prime. Buy a TAF and relive your youth. An instant cure for being over weight, bald and middle aged 😉

I've got a players TAF that I've had for years. Some damage under the leg that was repaired and some scoring marks to the inlanes where an operator took off a Mylar overlay with a Stanley knife . Otherwise in good condition due to aforementioned Mylar overlay for most of its life.

Never been interested in selling but reckon it would hit £6k+ easily on eBay which is more than I paid for a GOTG and TMNT pro

I like TAF for a couple of games - lets be honest people, It is a fun game.

But I don't think I would never buy one... it is way down on my wish list

As mentioned, Pins are only worth what people will pay for them..
Currently, post covid, a lot of folk have spare $$ having not spend out on holidays and decorated their houses, gardens etc etc...
So games rooms / home bars are super popular at the moment = strong demand for pins.

It will be intested to see how the market shifts when family holidays etc become a more viable option for most

@Mozie lets here them.
Is that a challenge?

Under £5-6k, I’d prefer:

1. Fish Tales
2. WH2O
3. CFTBL
4. Flash Gordon
5. Lord of the Rings
6. Stern: Star Trek
7. Star Trek: TNG
8. The Shadow
9. Alien Poker
10. Quicksilver
11. Centaur
12. Fathom
13. BK2000
14. Black Hole
15. Paragon
16. Space Shuttle
17. Space Station
18. Nine Ball
19. Tommy’s Pinball Wizard
20. TX Sector

I could go on…

Vee,

I take it that's Williams Space Shuttle, from your earlier mention of one due a new playfield. The earlier ones are pretty much forgotten.
