Twiddling my thumbs, forever procrastinating at work and was thinking about Munsters. I remember when it launched, the art looked amazing, the layout slick and then a lot of people thought the code looked a bit bare bones to say the least. I know not all games need to be Jurassic Park or Simpsons etc but this is obviously a deal breaker for many. Anyway, months (years?) later, does the game have it's fans? I remember Guardians getting slammed and becoming a favourite, Stranger Things too. Both through updates perhaps. Is Munsters just no good? Or is it quietly amassing a following?

Its popular here. amazed the younger players relate to the theme though
code lets it done. black and white looks the business

I wasnt keen on GOTG at first play but now its my favorite of the Stern screen games we have

Never played it, watched enough videos. I too think the art looks amazing by Franchi. The only thing that put me off after a while was the canned laughter.
Not sure why they would add that as it’s immensely annoying on TV so why add it to a Pinball?

It's difficult to do much with the code I guess with the lack of inserts. Code hasn't been dramatically expanded before on a machine with so few inserts, other than maybe Metallica? And of course the party line is the game is meant to be simple etc.

It's a large collection machine for sure, if you only had 2 or 3 machines you wouldn't have it long. I bought Ian's old pimped out pro with the beautiful purple powder coat expecting to just play it for a month or 2 and move it on. However, my partner Lorraine really enjoys it as she can have a fairly long game on it, and the rules are very easy to understand. For experienced players though the code is extremely shallow. I get to use the excuse that Lorraine really likes it as a reason to keep it, but I enjoy playing it too. It shoots well for sure, the ramps are some of the best.

Its a turd of the highest order...

Thats the only issue with Stern atm... They release some cracking machines then some don't meet the mark like Stranger Things and Munsters

I should say I'm NOT in the market for one, just bored at work thinking about pinball!
better than being bored with pinball and thinking about work, i guess.

I sold more Stranger Things Le than any other LE for some considerable time!!
Stranger Things was a massive license - good to hear it sold well. Not one for me, but if it keeps the line moving for the next then all good.

I’ve played an LE. Like all Sterns, I haven’t got a frickin clue what I’m doing on them but i enjoyed smacking the ball around and it’s one of the most beautiful machines I’ve ever clapped eyes 👀 on

Go to the installs menu and select EASY or EXTRA EASY. Close up the out lanes. I am a rubbish player. Tend to do this with most pins!

As I say to everyone. Pinballs are like music. Try it ! I dont mind it, but I like Kiss and Aerosmith (both similar games - John Borg's as well).

Never ask on a pinball forum if a game is good or not....

Stranger Things is literally a reimaged AFM layout out with a boring bash toy in the middle... To me its boring and stagnant

Art package, videos, music are on point...

I personally feel this IP should have been more heavily invested in... The possibilities of an upside-down full lower playfield could have been immense

I have only played a few games on it and had no clue what I was shooting for but had a great time. Even if the game is a turf you can't deny that the artwork is stunning. For the money I don't think I'd want one, but would definately flip on it again if I see one

How does it compare with CSI @kevlar?

I played several games on Ian's and really enjoyed them - but I also got to Munster Madness easily. It's a super fun game, it isn't any sort of skill challenge. I'm a pretty crap player but I "beat it" very quickly.

And I'd like to own one down the line, maybe when prices drop. I *dream* of the B/W Premium!

The only thing that put me off after a while was the canned laughter.

I heard they didn't have a choice - a show that old has a single, mono sound track including the canned laughter, you can't take it out.

Edit: That said, they did put in a bit extra! Like I said, I like the game including the audio.

Stranger Things is brilliant.
The Munsters....no comment
It just goes to show, we all like different things. I played Tilt's stranger things last week for the first time, I don't know what anyone sees in it. Boring. Ball spending way too much time airbourne and bouncing around. Expected far more from Eddy's return.

I have no idea (Haven’t played the one at tilt) but perhaps it isn’t dialed in like ours is (just speculating)
We don’t have any airbourne or bouncing around issues like you mentioned.
It took me a good amount of time and effort. It’s one of our most popular games.

Err....its what the center ramps does! ball either goes in the chuff or bounces off.
No need to shoot the centre shot at all if you don’t like it, or you’re not accurate in sinking the shot.
Far more to the game than the demo shot

I should explain - If the game is not set up correctly it will be very difficult to sink the ball in the demos mouth and will bounce around a lot and cause frustration. I know this all too well.
When dialed in, the demo shot is not difficult to hit.
The pitch, L/R level and flipper power is critical for the shot to work well (takes time and patience)

Munsters prem certainly has the edge because newbies love the lower playfield. Like BK SOR l wouldnt have considered a pro version . Looking at the avengers prem ramps l think thats another pro that is missing too much

I played it and yes it is.

Loved the black and white premium. That was a cool look!

Keep speculating ;)

Thats why peeps like @CHRIS B PINBALLS and @myPinballs have had to literally strip their machines to make adjustments to make them play right?

The upside down is the same as the real world in the series. Hence making the upside down on the actual playfield with the UV kit exposing different artwork and a different feel being the best option.
