I'm pleased to announce a new award category, I don't have a snappy title yet but the essence is to recognise the best public places to play Pinball in the UK.

To make it clear that this award is voted by the pinball community please post your nominations and votes on this website.

The process is very simple.

You are invited to nominate a location or vote for a location nominated by another member of this forum.

All you have to do is give the location/website and say briefly, why they are worthy.

Please post your nominations and votes for " The best public places to play Pinball in the UK" Using the Poll listed above.
You can only vote once per user, however you can change your vote at any point whilst the poll is open.
I've blocked the ability to view other votes before voting.

Please post below the reason why you prefer one venue over the others...

@Gary Flower - How long would you like the Poll to run for??

Cheers

It's a tough one. I've played at a lot of different places, and I could choose a number of them for different reasons such as closeness to me, selection of machines, fun factor. Need to give it some thought.

I will be voting Republic, not because it is necessary the best but as I believe it is the most important Down Sarth .
I would also suggest to anyone who asks me about Medway to vote the same ( Mike my partner in Medway might say something else)
Obviously if I lived in the Midlands or in Gods country up North my vote would possibly be different 😀

Very true - I have always enjoyed my visits to Pinball Republic, Electric Circus, Medway, Special When Lit and Tilt. We're very lucky to have such fantastic venues round the country! It's not an easy choice at all.

Haven't played at all of the locations in the polls, and I'm probably biased but Pinball Republic gets my vote, I take great pride in looking after the games there and over the last year I'm thrilled with the progress made to the standard of the machines. Really love Medway too, have always had a fantastic time when I can make it 😁

Will this be a near full list of sites in the UK? I’d be interested to get a hit list of places to visit. Not got to the Office & Medway yet (hope to this year)

Big thanks to all those running a site & taking in their fair share of us local miscreants who go in and shove their machines with hopes of high scores.

Enjoyed all the sites I’ve visited for comps;

SWL: Full of Vandals! (My local club in Salisbury)
PBR: Full of Geezers! (London club)
Circus: Full of Troublemakers! How many Games?!? I wanna take this Wayne name off some of them…(midlands club)

And all the sited games at:

Chief Coffee in London: Great Coffee & tucked away cellar location.
Tilt Brum: Fine ales and clean machines.
Arkade Minehead: Proper beachside pinball; fish&chips/Ice-cream - the real deal - could suggest to wifey mc wifeface for a beach trip..
The Arcade Club Bury: in a big old industrial building, floors full of arcade games & a cosy pinball alcove.
Retroids in Worcester: Arcade bar; cool place - worth stopping for lunch if you can take a little detour off the m5 going north/south.
Bournemouth Arcade: sited pinball; gotta get heavy use - but what they were built for(!)
Brewdog Sheppards bush: Very tidy & well maintained sited pinball. Good burgers too.
Kongs of King Streets Bristol: studentville club/bar with a few nice modern sterns.

My vote would be Special When Lit, but I’m of course bias and in reality they’re all Special, unique and awesome..

..Except PBR. 😜

Cheers for the votes

Never done this for the accolades or the circle jerk, simply had an idea of a place that I'd like myself and implemented it.

It's been massively hard work over the years to actually run a business over a members club and invested a hell of a lot of cash but it wouldn't have been possible without @philpalmer continued support.

We led the way in the UK back in 2015

As @PinballNews once said

Since it opened two months ago, Tilt has continued the trend of not only making pinball mainstream again, but making it legitimate too.

It's not some seedy dimly-lit backstreet pinball dive bar. It's unashamedly bright, modern, airy and clean, selling quality crafted drinks at premium prices, right in the city centre.

It's just the kind of place pinball needs to be, and to be seen.

Once again, Nominations need to include

1 the address of the location
2 Confirmation that it's open to the general public
3 the name of the nominee/voter

I'd encourage posting on the group for transparency but you can also PM me.

I voted for Pinball Republic - great range of machines across eras, well maintained and many of the very latest and best games too.

The tournaments / leagues that are run are top notch - PBR is a great time for those who enjoy the competitive side and some banter no matter who good or bad you are - but also good for those who just want to play for fun and practice.

I voted for Pinball Republic (obviously a bit biased). 😉
Great range of clean well maintained machines and a great vibe at our weekly meets and at all the tournaments that are hosted here.
I have to say that all the other venues I have visited have been great also with great comps and lovely people. 😃

This is the biggest mid **** ever for me as there are all great places I love to go and play. They all have different games, they all have a different atmosphere and without them, to me, the world would be a duller place, so I want to sit on the fence for now until the splinters in my **** make me have to pick one. How about a points system like Eurovision at least then I can give appreciation to all :-)

I do wonder if the result is just going to end up with everyone voting for their local club and the one with the most members wins, so won't it be a surprise which club ends up on top.....

A better representation of the best club would be to not allow anyone to vote for their local club in the same as when footballers vote for the player of the year, they are not allowed to vote for players from their own club.

One way to ensure this works, would be a voting form where you list your name, your local club and your vote. That way it could be checked to see you're not voting for your local club by comparing individual to club.

Just an idea but otherwise, I fear it is a foregone conclusion!
