he could have looked at everything on the site, and the only evidence would be that he paid to access it, which he admitted. there would only be images on his computer if he chose to download them, which he didn't, so the argument that nothing was found is moot.
by the way, plesae note that this is Gary Flower's personal 'pinball hall of fame' that is chosen by him alone, and not the UK one which has a committee and voters and uses public nominations, since 2008.
i am not having a pop at Gary, or even particularly at Pete Townshend whose music i still like. still amazed frankly that he still had a career after this came out, some deals were done that day. not a great choice, and just writing a song doesn't make someone a good figurehead for any topic.
Images are cached and stored on the computer when you browse. Townshend did not have any illegal images on his PC so he hadn't downloaded anything nasty. That is why he was not prosecuted but cautioned and is no longer on the sex offenders register. Perhaps people need to step back from the lynching and consider how Townshend's music and subsequent films, Tommy and Quadrophenia, featured Pinball.
Don't forget Iggy, Bowie, Jimmy Page, Bill Wyman and many, many others in the music business were actively involved with underage girls. I am not condoning any of this but it seems a big overreaction and appears to be more of an attack on Gary which is pretty petty.
