Tumbler media

It may have some residual magnetism depending how it was formed. Ferritic and Martensitic stainless tend to have a slight magnetism whereas Austenitic not so much unless the material has been worked such as stamping out washers. (Geek mode off)

gonna start with the larger mechs/subways first and see.

I do remember a tip from somewhere.. was it to put posts/screws/nuts in a nylon washing tablet bag or something.. keeps all the bits in there, but still gets them clean
 
I though the washing tablet bag was for washing small bits in a dish washer. Worth a try though. Interested in your results.
got to be worth trying something that doesn’t stick in the heads of screws
 
The tumbling media will just destroy the bag. You are thinking of putting parts in the dishwasher :-)
