Great work:D

Below is what Chris from High End Pins does when installing mirror blades which must be kind of similar. Often wondered about mirror blades and so I was curious how he made sure of no scratches. If it works for him it must be good;)

'I sand a bevel on the lower edge of the playfield, make sure the sides are completely smooth and apply felt like strips. The backboards are normally a bigger source of scratching so those need to be shaved a little on each side and the brackets if present my need to be adjusted too.'

It will be included as an option in the instructions, these decals are thinner than the mirror blades so there is more clearance, I think the felt strips will certainly help keep the wood from the decals and also keep the pf centred, all good, cheers for the info

Alas I think the MM is a non starter as I have no machine, RFM may be a future project, TAF is deffo on the cards but will be a while, need to get this one out there 1st but as paypal have f****ed up my account since 3 weeks I am not sure if it worth launching it on ebay yet as no one can buy my stuff on there, Paypal think that I am supplying parts for gambling machines, slot machines..........why?......because I sell a slot machine mod......DOH!!, and they are in no hurry to sort it out so I am on lockdown pretty much until some wise guy in an office somewhere goes...oh...yeah......ok, sorry, the whole thing is ridiculous

Paypal suck... dont get me started.....

How about using the ones sold on here as a "trial". They are reduced from their normal sale value anyhow as you have nicely offered - use that and take the feedback from those that buy them as to any improvements (if any is indeed required).... then when launched they are trialled and tested

That sucks man. They are notorious for this sort of stupidity.

When I was getting the this lot to marry up in the backboard area I raised the grid lines on the RHS side art by 9mm with the decal running parallel to the top of the backboard, this never really made sense at design stage although I put it down to the machine quirks, the pf and cab being out of true, I could have adjusted the angle on the backboard art itself before the print stage to get things to line up but wanted the grid to be parallel with the playfield and backboard top so raised the RHS side art grid lines.

It has now become obvious why mirrored side art grid lines on both cab sides would not work at the design stage, basically the playfield and backboard are on the **** relative to the cab, visible in the pic above (backboard & playfield are running upwards from left to right). I assume that this is down to 20 years of settling, basically heavier components on the LHS side of the pf which has resulted in gradual warp over time, this machine has been in collectors hands for most of it's life and was not damp stored by the looks of it so I assume it’s long term weight exposure which has caused this?.

Is yours the same or is it just mine?, you will see that the LHS of the backboard edge is lower than the right.

Any info is welcomed

I have concluded that mirroring the grid lines on both sides so that they are both identical on future runs is the way to go coupled with a 20mm of bleed on the top edge of the backboard decal, this will allow the backboard decal to be trimmed at the end to compensate for playfield twist or warp etc, top edge of the backboard is out of view when the pf is located.

Felt works a treat, 3 widths in the wider area and a single width on the pf edge slightly overlapping the corner on to the underside of the pf, perfect fit, centres the pf and protects the decals, happy days
