The "Today I received" Thread

picked up one of these to figure out what was going on with my Dracula on MB, Firing up the motor on this seemed to clear a lot of crap out of it and Dracula is now like an Olympic athlete! Have a new motor on order just incase.

May be a daft question - what is it and what is used for ?

The bottom half had been kicking around on ebay for ages but the £400 price tag was putting people off.

I'd get the battery off the MPU before anything else should you want to press this in to use in the future...
Hopefully it may come back up

Mpu is all cleaned up and chips back in ,just need to test it now somehow

sorry its a bench power supply, let me run the motor on the bench, i put 6v into the dracula motor for a while and it cleared a load of muck out of it, I was going to rebuilt it but wasn't sure I had all the parts (used to race model cars). It worked, Dracula now running around the table like usain bolt :D

Neil.

Oh I see - I'm currently giving my BSD an overhaul. Took the motor and gears apart and cleaned up - it was squeaking and grinding during mist. Much smoother now.

Mist is a great feature but when it gets confused it confuses me twice as much.

As an aside, the machine once kept searching for balls in mid game. I worked out that the metal ramp attachment on the mystery hole underneath playfield had 'bowled' where the ball dropped and the ball was not rolling down the ramp cos it was resting in the dent where the ball dropped.

Took it out and sorted it with a hammer and a broom handle .

Portable Bluetooth speakers. Diddly little thing but handy for having music wherever I go! This one was £26.99 from Amazon. It's got Bluetooth so can be used as hands-free for phone calls. Also has 3.5mm AUX input and takes Micro-SD/TF cards from which it can play MP3 directly. Sound quality is good and if you want it surprisingly loud for something about the same size as a tub of margarine. I mainly want it for listening to music quietly as I work on my laptop for which it is perfect. I tried this first one by APIE (£25 from Amazon) but the background hiss was so bad on the Bluetooth mode I returned it the same day, although it did have a FM radio built in which was a nice bonus.

Today I received... an inflation-busting performance-related 4% pay rise backdated to 1st July! Result :D
Err, what is this mythical 'payrise' of which you speak? :hmm:

It's the 150 anniversary of the Company I work for. So to celebrate we all contributed and built this massive ship which is now in the Guinness Book of Records.
