Reckon the original art under it is salvageable?
I doubt it, looks like there is plastic padding under the paint. Some perished wood underneath too. Playfield is badly worn in places, and a bit of rust in areas too. A couple of the plastics are cracked, but other than that it looks in great shape. A think new bulbs and rubbers and it will be functional, but lots of painting...good job I like painting :)

Good score. If it had been this side of London would have grabbed, but didnt fancy the drive from Bristol. Nice!

I can make them for £99 + delivery but would need (good quality) photos or scans of the genuine artwork. Don't need to be clean or perfect. Something that I can use as a base for drawing. Unless I can find something in decent quality online.

I would give it a go with hot air gun and check what's underneath.

Thanks sir you are a gent, I'll see what I can salvage :)

Plenty to do, first stop triple thick the glass tomorrow morn. After that, finish the Expo, then paint strip to see what's underneath

I've found some photos on imdb. Should be able to make cabinet/backbox stencils based on them if you provide me with the exact dimensions.
Let me know when you need them :)

Excellent pickup and welcome to the Zale Zipper Club, this machine is a younger sibling of my Rocket III so I'm quite familiar.

Interesting on these, was to get around the US gambling laws back in the day Bally supplied an Added Ball Kit option which replaces Replays functionality (ie winnings) with Shoot Again (you'll see a Shoot Again lamp on the back glass that never lights on yours). I've helped reproduce these plug in relays for a few games including Mini Zag as Shoot Again can be fun in a home environment. It's rare to see these kits, particularly in Europe where they weren't required, it plugs in and replaces the blank plug circled below and can be built from standard parts.

Another piece of the jigsaw that you may be interested in as you work through the machine

Have you ever done them for Gigi? It is a simple design and I was gonna make my own but if someone already has done them great!

I imagine DH had a bid but seller was messaged with a cash price he couldn't refuse. Expect to see a wiped over one on eBay for £4995 or something equally daft
Thankfully not, it's safe. Although yes it does need a good wipe over, otherwise pretty nice.

VUK broken and a metal plate zip tied over the entrance to stops balls entering. Slight batt leakage but on the WPC-S standoff board.
Legs, bolts, backplates are trashed and slight white powdery mould on rear but no sign of prolonged damp.

All in all a good buy, nice bloke and at the right price.

Hope you managed to get the boot shut :)

The Addams.. i had a good look whilst there.

Two mansion windows completely worn due to a flipper crash. Otherwise it's decent under the dirt. They've had it since new and it shows. Underside pretty spotless and looks like it's never been stored or moved.

Cloud topper is damaged as pictured. Flippers bust.

Owner seen one for sale at 10k and has that in his mind. (Liberty?)

I laughed and suggested 3k tops, given it would need a new pf and weeks of tlc.

I then discovered the ebay listing had reached 5.2k and i nearly choked. Told him to take the money and run! He's v worried about tire kickers, but ebay you're obv gonna get em.

He revealed 58 watchers so was optimistic it would go higher, but im sure 55 of those are rubber neckers (myself included now).

The Dimes Arcade has been sold to next door and they don't want any pinball on the floor, hence the sales. No plans for replacements apparently. The op that i met has been tasked by the new owners to sell them. Said he'd been asked 100's times over the years but always declined to sell. Worked there 25 years and a really nice guy.

Hope the new owners don't just fill it with slots.

It's already redemption city. Sad to see. Kids were loving it though. Arm-fulls of tickets. Man they don't know what they missed back then...

Nice one bud. Glad you got one. I shopped mine out last month. Couple of vids here of my journey

If you watch them, I risk hitting double figures 🤣🤣🤣

Is the seller of this a member on here ?
Claims to be home use only and one owner.
Many Thanks

I'm not currently looking for a project but if you are then a warning about the project F14 on the bay...

It looks like it has a battery corrosion issue in red area and it got toasty in the yellow area
