Gone to Ebay The addams family Bally £7600

Yes, but it's only older people who've ever been able to *afford* home pins (and the space for them).

Nope . These things were a few hundred quid in the 2000s.
And renting / buying property was way more accessible / affordable .
Loads of us on here were filling our boots with pinball in our early 30s 😃

Early 30s is 'older'.

Alexander the Great managed to conquer an entire empire by 32. People had to do that before the invention of penicillin. Now, it takes them until 32 just to leave school...

"window gazing with empty pockets", to paraphrase the O.P. The empty pockets is correct* in my case, but I got my fill of Addams at the time, seeing as work bought four. If I'd wanted one, I could've bought one of those, though I'm not sure what amount below trade (if any) I'd have got.

And as others have said, that 'courage to be disliked' caper is either laughable or signifying a bad attitude, if not both.

* Though thinking again, we do have crayons in our pockets, to write "they're having a laugh" on the window

We had one in the office as well, I got my nostalgias worth out of it lol. Now I don’t have to pay silly money for a 3.5k game :D

So after reading through this what do people value a mint TAF or TAFG in this current market ?
some people will pay anything if they really want it, and 'mint' is totally subjective, but market rates just now are approx 7-9K for a TAF, depending on who you ask and what else is available. a TAFG is valued higher.

sorry i can't be more specific. it's still a mystery to me why the most-sold game ever (in the modern era) still fetches top dollar. but it does. some people will say nonsense you can get them cheaper than that, but if you can, i would love to know where. this forum is basically the cheapest place to buy any pins.

I suspect there are pins going cheaper 'under the counter' between friends.

Also, as the original poster did, you can apparently get pins more cheaply by watching like a hawk websites like FB Marketplace, and being willing to take a van across the country to pick up a pin at a moment's notice. I know there are people on here who do that (apparently, and they've told me), but it's not feasible for those of us without space, time... or a van.

It’s 100% the easiest and best way to buy but is it still the cheapest?

I’d suggest anyone sticking a game on eBay with no reserve might get a shock as to what real prices are now. Everything has taken a massive knock. Look at the games being offered here at what I’d consider “good” value and they’ve had barely a sniff.

If you want cheap pins these days you really have to be quick and willing to go and get it within 24hrs or at least make sure the seller is paid as quickly as possible.

You don’t need a van as most cars can transport a pin very easily, so there’s really no excuses for car owners not to go and grab a cheap pin when they see one. I’ve transported about 20 pins in a Toyota Yaris without issue.

Basically if you don’t put in the effort, there’s always someone else behind you that is motivated to put in the effort.

Totally agree, eBay is no longer top price in the majority of cases. In fact it’s the opposite a lot of the time.

Yes this is the way. No van needed though as @8bit-1up says.
