Word is Mirco just got destroyed during his seminar. Got hammered with playfield quality questions. "No comment" to all. Heckled and laughed out of the room. Brutal.

The new Totan 2.0 mpu could looks.... erm... interesting.

I feel sorry for the coder he's a good guy.

But mirco designed the "boardset", the speaker panel, he's the distro, the investor, and his names on it.

He's intrinsically linked to it now, and the project is all the worse for it.
 
and that "new CPU" looks identical to an Rpi...
In fact have just compared one and it is!!

Oh indeed... and both Mirco and The Tilt guy both in Germany..... Hmm...

It's even got the crappy little Strap-on DC Regulator that his Sound card had on... and the Little Amps...
 
Yeah he was saying no comment to all the playfield issues.

the totan 2.0 game he had on display didnt work all day…

i played big al and heist again - so the flippers and shot kinetics are a lot better than the last time I played. both games are fun with great rules more so big al. I’m not running to buy one but need to play it more which I’ll try tomorrow.

cactus canyon though wow have CGC done an epic job on that.

Does look a little home made with all the bolt on dev boards rather then all designed from scratch and built into the main pcb you would expect from a company, get to market quicker this way I guess?

What does this board talk to where are all the lamp / coil drivers? Is that under the pf?
 
Will talk more about this in the thread later but CGC went into huge detail about how much of the WMS games they have to fix and what effort they put in. If they didnt limit Distros from Purchasing them (i.e. one LE for every x "Special" machines) then i would be more impressed. It's as much about marketing as it is the machine.

They screwed it up, and lost my Money. I'm the one thats quids in - Deffo not looking any sleep over it... Just narked!
 
thats a standard practise in pretty much every industry in the world.

It'll connect to the fast retro pcb (a requirement of the wpc license) via USB and ribbon cable. Fast connects to the power driver for all the lamps, coils etc.

The USB handles the 2.0 comms, ribbon handles 1.0 sound commands.

Can anyone confirm whether totan 2.0 kit will support the 1.0 rom? I've heard it won't? 🧐
 
It won’t. Mirco waffled in that maybe in the future but nobody was buying it.

Thanks everyone 😊 feeling good about this one. The finals start at 5pm but I wont play til the 2nd round as got a bye. Qualifying just finished. Just having Ice cream outside its lovely weather here today. Set my phone alarm to remind me check in 15min before. 🤗🤗
