Just for a bit of fun tell us all one thing that you have done (or has happened to you) that others might find interesting.

I have had a century break at snooker (a long time ago though).

I used to own and run the UK's (and probably Europe's at the time) biggest and most popular Discussion Forum (not this one!).

In 1994 one morning I was stranded accidentally on a small island off Chile for 24 hours with no food, water or anything but what I was wearing, with a Dutch girl, before being rescued by a small motor boat the following morning.

I subsequently married her.
I'd really like to hear the full story behind that!

OK, weird thread. Ironic asking a load of pinball geeks to come up with something interesting about themselves.......funny thing is, I struggled! Ha ha, I am that geek!!

Anyhow here goes (one of these are true anyway):

1) I hold the world record for eating ear wax in 10 minutes.

2) After a stint in property developing back in the 90's, I sold all my houses and moved to Shrewsbury with my (then) girlfriend and retired. After playing golf (badly) for a year, she left me, took pretty much everything I had and had to start over back in London. I'm happier and stronger for it now, apparently!

More sad than interesting I know. Some good stories here, I like it.

Must have been traumatic Paul.

Strangely not. As we were right at the back of the terracing we didn't have a clue what was going on at the front. We just knew it was time to get out as it was a bad enough crush at the back.

i used to be a licensed skydiver, hanglider and paraglider, but haven't done any of those for over 20 years so would not be safe to try again now without a big-ass refresher course.

I was at St Andrews in Birmingham when a wall collapsed and killed a young Leeds fan in 1985. The riots that day were the worse I have ever witnessed in many years of football. The Bradford fire happened on the same day so that overshadowed the riot.

My wedding album was signed by the members of Mcfly as they were friends of the family but unfortunately couldn't make our wedding day due to being on tour.

I say 'were' because i've since got divorced so i'm no longer in THAT family. Thankfully. (and no, it's nothing against Mcfly).

In 2009 I was in a movie with Eric Cantona... 9 months later I spent a full day in the presence of the Dalai Lama in his temple in northern India, To be so close to one of the greatest people on earth was wonderful.... the Dalai Lama was OK as well.... :p

For 13 years I raced karts (proper ones, not cacky indoor types) at a club and for a few years national level, won multiple races (including some of the biggest club events) and a championship in 2009. In the early years I raced at the same race events (although not the same race series) as the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Davidson, Suzy Wollff, Gary Paffett and Paul Di Resta.

Competitive pinball is like playschool compared to how serious karting was and a lot more dangerous :)

Two of my best friends growing up are two brothers who now form Disclosure, a fairly well known house group if you're into that sort of thing.

Haven't spoken to either of them in years and when I found out they were both semi-famous it was a bit of a shock! I wish them every success, they were both always well into their music.

40 years ago I was enjoying a saturday lunchtime pint with the girlfriend outside in the sun.
I ended up cutting the landlady down who'd hanged herself.

Thought of another .When I split with my ex back in the day, she married Guru Josh (song - Infinity. Google if younger than 40!)

I spent 4 years on the road producing a rock and roll tribute theatre show, the bloke that played Elvis is unintentionally hilarious so I scripted a film about him and filmed it as we went, now I've got a rough cut of the film and no idea what to do next....the trailer's here on our Facebook page...

We're you able to draw on those skills whilst filming the latest go-compare advert whilst singing on a moving plane?

Guru Josh went to my school! He passed away not that long ago, think he was only about 50.

Sad news. I used to go clubbing with him (and my ex) at a place called 'Clink Street' under London bridge (?) I think. Think he lived near Elstree studios. Wow, feel old now!

I had a big accident 9 years ago in Goa which left me with pretty much every bone in my body broken. When my mates got me to hospital they were told that I had a 20 % chance of making it through the night. I was in intensive care in Goa for 6 weeks before they could fly me back to Jersey. Once I arrived back they found out that my shattered pelvis hadn't been fixed in Goa and was still snapped in half so I was flown back to the UK were I stayed in St. Georges for 12 weeks. 4 of those weeks I was having an operation every other day on my open femur fracture as it was so infected from the minging Goa hospital that they had to completely wash out the wound. It was touch and go if I was going to keep my leg but 28 operations later, a boat load of ridiculously strong painkillers and antibiotics it only hurts on very cold and damp days.
After I got out of hospital I was in a wheelchair for over a year then on crutches for 18 months but now you couldn't tell unless you were really looking.
It has definitely given me a different view on life, no more what if's. :)
