I guess my issue is that you need to be careful with non reversible modification of anything. Who knows what the future holds for pinball but in almost other collectable situations, originality is king.

I must admit that the nicotine smell of old machines does bring a touch of nostalgia, but years of sun fade, abuse from kids and careless operators, and of course general wear and tear can't be a good thing can it?

Well sure it is, IF you're talking about keeping the value of said item.

But some people look beyond what it's worth an instead are focussed on making it playable for now and years to come. When it's an antique vase which sits on a shelf then sure you wouldn't want to be changing too much, but when it's a piece of gaming equipment I think things are a little different.

Personally i'm in the camp of 'make it look nice' and 'make it play well'. Those are my two highest priorities but I realise that's not everyones view.

Ha, OCD! I wish! It looks a little cluttered now. spare parts all under the pins, tools everywhere...

I prefer originality above all else. I quite like the occasional ding, scrape or graffiti. It's like it was when they were in the arcades (other than the very short period of being new).

You can destroy the patina of use, but you can never recreate it.

(sorry for the doulbe/treble post but this forum softwre can be shyte)
Sounds like you also enjoy the inevitable 'out of order' sign you'd often see on arcade based pins too if you enjoy the originality

Dave , I am very interested in the cab , problem being at the moment, I am loaning or selling all my machines out until extension and new garage are completed ,( lack of room. ). So I would not be able to take it for a couple of months. , ? , cheers lee

Hi Lee

I'm not going to be getting the New Cab and all swapped over for about a month anyway I think,.

The extension and garage start in 2 weeks. And it is going to take. 10 -12 weeks. Would you be able to hold on to it till then ? Also ill have to arrange courier to pick up ! Is that ok as well.

That's fine. I have a few intrested people. I was contemplating leaving the siderails coin door and lock bar as I have new ones coming. (The coin door would not be one pictured) but everything else is coming out.

Sorry Mike, been away on course. It's going well
