Ok, strange it is buzzing though.
Try connecting ground to the tab with the orange wire, that should energize the coil. Let’s make sure it does work indeed.

Provided that works try grounding pin 15 of U2 as described above.

So in you option is it the fliptronic board at fault in some way

Read my posts above. Identify leg 15 on chip U2 connect a piece of wire to ground and touch the other end on the pin.

Could be the CPU or something as easy as the ribbon cable between CPU and Fliptronics. We are working our way back from the coil. Do you have another game you could swap the Fliptronics with?

Should work, that is a Fliptronics II but they are interchangeable.
