I don't get the logic that the pitch might be completely off. My pitch is bang on 6.5 and the slings bat the ball from side to side and risk going down either outlane. That's just pinball.
What obviously shouldn't happen regardless of pitch is the chair or the swamp kickout not landing on the left or right flipper respectively. This can happen on TAFs too, depending on the alignment of the Thing flipper.
It doesn't sound outrageously wrong to me. I can really bad luck on TZ sometimes, particularly with the pops, and its bang on 6.5 degrees.
Don't use the bubble, either get an app on your phone or an inclinometer for measuring the pitch if you're not used to setting up pinball machines. If you are then I just use a ball and manually roll it down the middle of the table and see how it behaves, after a while you can feel whether a game is out of whack or not
Firstly, thanks to everybody on here for all your wisdom, this is a great place for a newbie like me to hangout
Secondly, I adjusted the level (similar to TZ) and the speed is much better for me now. The long shot through the graveyard also sometimes just gets to the right flipper, so no instant death all the time.
Thirdly, The whole thing plays fairer for me now so I started playing and it's now developed a fault...typical! It's being fixed Wednesday but I'm sure with the fairer level and smaller openings to the side drain lanes, I'll get more hooked
I was beginning to think about selling / swapping it but thanks to you guys I'll be enjoying it for some time to come
