Super Mario pinball thoughts

There's lots of great Got's.

When I took 2 Stargates to Daventry they both went down a storm, I sold them both and had another 3 buyers lined up if a sale fell through. However, the set up of for Stargate is critical, a few mm's out and it becomes an awful game to play.

SMB is a simple fun game, I'm a super now..! :D

They're prone to bad wear behind the lower right pop bumper, so watch out for that.

The one on ebay looks to be a reasonably tidy example but over priced and buyer beware on the seller who has numerous ebay identities over the years for good reason.

I've found Got's to be more reliable than B/W and normally easier to understand circuit wise. That said a lot circuits are very similar especially the DMD control and how transistors control solenoids, etc. Plus they don't suffer the 5v game reset gotcha that the WPC games are famous for.

The Gottlieb sys 3s are pretty much, in pin terms bulletproof. Tho , sadly a lot of them, not all, aren't great IMO.
Sys 1s and 80, 80a can be problematic, but if you get a Pascal board a lot of problems do then go, plus way better built in diagnostics with that board.
Sys 80b more reliable, and some great games. Tho, on these games especially repinning connectors can be needed.
I am a bit biased as I have 8 Gottliebs.
Knowledge base may not be as vast as say wpc, but it is there.
Plus Pascal, Jim and others do repro boards.
Like most pins really try before ya buy, even if on an emulator.
And don't let some people's views bother you.
At the end of the day it's what YOU want.
One man's turd is another man's gem

We have a Gottlieb Stargate at work, it's a great game and quite low maintenance. The manual and self-diagnostics are just as good as the bally DW downstairs (which I don't enjoy playing half as much, but that's very subjective).

you can only shoot the pyramid so many times though
