What the **** is going on with this pin?

According to Pinside - production has now been shifted back to Sept. Which I guess will slide again.

So ****ing glad I bailed on this title. Why does anyone believe a word that man says? What happened to the statements that they were contractually obliged to ship in Dec 2014, so they couldn't go into production in June 1014 as initially promised? Then lies about it having to be tied into the DVD release date. Will any one who's prepaid actually now see a machine in 2015?

I'm struggling to even remember what the films were like now. (think they were ok but nothing special but really don't remember the details)

It could still potentially be a great game but will anyone now really care anymore? I'd originally ordered a game as my son was really excited about the 1st movie coming out. Now all three are done and dusted I've never heard him mention them again since the start of this year.

I suspect I could pick up a 2nd hand KISS before a new Hobbit which is crazy. Every new release from Stern must eat into JJPs pre-sales

Yes its late, Jack's opinion is to have it perfect before it ships this time. He rushed WoZ and released with crap code, this time he is getting it right.

Chilax, you don't have one on order so why does it both you so much?

Phil

Ha ha yeah John, chillax
You're only still waiting for MMR and/or GOT, and GZ. Then you have to sell your B games to make room for your new incoming Monopoly and XFiles

It's a crazy delay, I don't like Jack and didn't want to buy one of his games but when I saw a video of it last year, I thought it would be amazing so ordered. I played one game at EAG and thought it was great. I think the finished product might well be EPIC :p

Dan, don't even get me started on the MMr ********;) I'm actively trying to avoid anything about that crap at the moment. Last time I looked at the MMr forum the twat who runs the show seemed to be having a **** fit at a fully paid up customer who was daring to ask when they might actually be getting their machine. They weren't having a go at him, just asking for a rough estimate. Total ****ing nob end. Sorry but when you take a million+ dollars from people you do then take on responsibility about delivering on your promises. It's not even that it's also over a year late that annoys me. It's the way they treat their customers.

To be honest the Hobbit thing annoys me because I should of have had a machine in my house last year;) I liked the theme when it was announced (which was before the first film), it sounded like a good game and then it all seemed to go to hell. Again taking peoples money and not delivering is total ********. (I'd like to stress this is aimed at manufactures not distros). I was paid up and ready to get the machine on the initial promised date. Hell, I was daft enough to then stay in for another six months until another machine came out and Phil was nice enough to let me switch over.

As customers, we're keeping up our side of the deal by paying:) Is it that unreasonable for manufacturers to be held accountable for production, code etc.

Even though I'm not a customer of the Hobbit now, I'd still love to see another pin out there and pay cash into it on location.

We'd all love to see more pinball in pubs, cinemas etc. One way surely is to tie it in with films and get them out at the same time. You know like T2 etc. (Unless my memory is playing me false about the early 90s) . I know this then led to some iffy titles (Twister, Demo Man etc) but there was relevance there. I remember when Avatar came out I couldn't understand why it would be timed after the film had finished in cinemas.

Hopefully the Hobbit will be a great game (even with a talking sock puppet rather than an all sing all dancing Smaug I'd envisioned), I just wish it was actually out there by now

Ahh **** it, I'm off to get a beer and track down a truly **** pin like Waterworld or Barb Wire or maybe Kevin will email me with an update about Predator

The Hobbit forum leader bloke sounds like a monumental ****, I'm surprised he doesn't instil a mutiny of litigation if he takes that attitude, presumably he's angry because he's not making the zillions he expected to, because of some reason or another, or because profits are being siphoned off to Wayne for IP ownership or Gary Stern for production. Serves him right.

I've never seen a Barb Wire or a Waterworld, but I'm claiming dibs on your Godzilla before it arrives, and look forward to playing it at yours or at a show sometime soon.

Hoping that Godzilla might be here on Monday. Martin might be doing a drive by pinballing as I know he's in south London that day.

Started to watch the last Godzilla movie today, not as dreadful as I'd assumed and surprised to see it started the bloke from Breaking Bad. I'll have to track down the 90s one that they based the pin on. The theme music alone was enough to put me off at the time.

haha, this thread is brilliant and like a temperature gauge of the emotions of buying NIB at the moment. Starts off at 2:36pm pretty ****ed, peaks at 8:07pm with double-digit stars over words, then relaxes towards nine 'o clock. I guess it takes balls to be in the NIB club right now :)

Jacks shown he delivers games and backs them up with warranties. More than anyone else bar Stern has managed.

WOZ got a bad rep because it was oversaturated prior to release. The cabinet construction, toys, rules, LCD etc. we're amazing for a first time pin. Ask Andy how difficult it is to make a pin? Alien was meant to be out in April! Nordman called it when he said there was no chance that would happen.

Jacks shown he delivers games

Err, my point is that he actually hasn't;)

To date he's only delivered one game. Not knocking Woz. At one game he is still the current number two pinball manufacturer in the world. Just wish game #2 would actually come out. (and #3.#4 onwards)

Chilax, where the hell did you pull that one from Phil ?
Chilax, for fu*k sake is that what we have become, talking ****e ?

Just for the record, I think the machines looks pretty good. Not played it but looking forward to a game.
And don't forget you can win a Hobbit Smaug edition for the price of a raffle ticket from NLP.
Tickets on sale from the Northrn Lights website or from Phil at Pinball Heaven.

T2 was in UK pubs several weeks before the movie. Unfortunately even the mighty Williams couldn't ship star wars ep 1 on time nailing into the coffin of Williams bally . fact game was **** poor didn't help

Never saw any of the "new" star wars films (or the 2nd or 3rd ones all the way through). But is Jaja actually more annoying than the Ewoks? Surely he can't be that bad? Is he up there with the Chinese kid in the 2nd Indiana Jones film? My only experience of him is from the Lego Star wars game

He's more annoying than the love child of an Ewok and Kanye West

So bearing in mind another round of 'investment' in JJP, is anyone still in on the Hobbit?

Yes I am. There was an email yesterday about the open house last weekend, it suggested there will be a Hobbit update in a week or so.

Really want to see JJP take on Stern and GOT. Now is the time to go in hard, decapitate them and deal with what's left. Sorry been watching too much Sopranos recently...

I was a bit disappointed after playing TH at the EAG in January, but the code looks like it's improved massively since then.

Looking forward to hopefully playing it at the NLP, and maybe GOT too ;)

Will be interesting to see which is the best machine, if Steve Ritchie pulls another speed fest out of the bag, could be a close call

Let's hope all the new releases are good - Hobbit, Game of Thrones, and Full Throttle.

I don't want one to win at the expense of the others like VHS vs Betamax, I want them all to flourish, and more.

Come on Jersey Jack, it couldn't be any worse that the abomination that is WOZ

I have this feeling that JJP isn't going to be here in two years time. TH should have been much easier after they'd built up some experience making WOZ, but it seems to be just as hard for them to get it finished. The company must be burning money in overheads just by standing still. I hope I'm wrong.
