Hi there -- just saw a teaser photo on FB that says that Stern is going to reveal a new table at the CES in Vegas --

Anybody know what table it's gonna be?

Matti

It's good news for people like John W and Will B and Nick M who can't resist buying all the NIBs. This will allow them to save their pennies.

I imagine that Phil of PH who brings in all the UK games won't be pre-ordering many of these for the UK, maybe 3-5 tops?

Theme.......meh for me, and I'm guessing most folk on here.

Game could still be fun. @Gaz Shiells will prob love it [emoji6] I like the look of the upper playfield 'ring'

Bah hahahaha. I heard it was wrestling themed back at the UKPP.
I'm stuck in the 90's for my theme. Not a modern wrestling fan.
Im saving my pennies for a Starwars nib.

Another Mustang it would seem.

But, presume it will be at EAG next week so might be worth a trip to play it?

I honestly don't know who this is going to appeal to because:

A) nobody likes wrestling
B) nobody likes wrestling

Guys our age liked it in the 80's and 90's, not the new stuff. Kids who do like it now don't hang out anywhere this would be routed. Why would anyone buy it???

I agree that it won't be a big seller although you'd be surprised how many people (myself included) still watch and go to it these days (I was at Wrestlemania 29 in New York with 80,000 others).

Would love to see this one in person and find how it plays, although like other Sterns won't reach its full potential for 6-12+ months after release. Comparisons no doubt will be made to Data Easts Royal Rumble with this one.

When did this place turn into pinside again? Lets all completely dismiss a new game without having properly seen the playfield design, rule set or gameplay because we don't like the theme? I thought everyone here loved pinball?

Again not saying it will sell well but could be a really fun pinball, who knows until they've actually flipped on it.

I have no time for Spiderman as a theme (don't watch the films, read the comics or know really much about it) but LOVE the game.

But theme is very important in pinball. Not may people would drop 5K on a NIB unless they like the theme. My Little Pony could be the greatest game ever made but most people would not buy it!

Wrestlemania could be a great game, like you say. But a surprising choice from Stern no less.

I think the point with themes is not that you must like the theme or be into the subject matter but what's more important is that you don't actively dislike a theme, I can't think of a bigger turn off than wrestling.

Well, like an ugly dog I'll still love it because it's a dog. I'm not into super hero movies either but Spiderman as a theme has plenty going for it - like at least it doesn't have a translite filled with greased up half naked roid-heads smiling at you like they wanna make love!

Only 400 legend LE.

MELROSE PARK, Ill., Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Stern Pinball, Inc., the world's oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball games, introduced today the new WWE Wrestlemania pinball machine at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2015) in Las Vegas, Nevada. WWE Wrestlemania will be available in both Pro and Limited Edition models.

WWE Wrestlemania calls players into the ring as WWE superstars embarking on a quest to become the WWE worldwide heavyweight champion. Players train their wrestlers and then compete in a series of matches leading them on the road to Wrestlemania.

The WWE Pro and the Limited Edition machines feature an innovative upper pinball playfield wrestling ring. With the flipper buttons, players control two "Slammer" slingshot-style kickers in the ropes of the ring. Completing the three drop target bank starts a wrestling match. Players rack up points and pin opponents in the ring by shooting into a kick out hole. Keeping the ball in the ring and hitting as many targets as possible will advance players through the match. Multiple ramps guide the ball throughout gameplay, while brilliant lightshows highlight the all LED playfield. Ten licensed songs include intro music for wrestlers that players choose. WWE announcers Jerry "the King" Lawlor and Michael Cole add play by play excitement.

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan will individually autograph each of the numbered WWE Legends of Wrestlemania Limited Edition (LE) machines on a bottom arch mounted gold plaque. With only 400 autographs available, this collectible must be limited to that number of games. The LE game art features classic WWE stars, of course including Hulk Hogan. Actual WWE wrestling action is projected on the LE's replica "Titantron" playfield level 5.7 inch LCD directly above the ring. The ball is always wild when it comes into contact with the LE's exclusive "Chaos" spinning DISC while a third "Wham! Arm" flipper allows players to knock the ball off a wire ramp.

"The WWE franchise features unique characters and fantastic action sequences that are captured in these pinball machines. WWE Wrestlemania pinball games will appeal to a very large and diverse group of both WWE and pinball fans," said Gary Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball. "This game is unique with an innovative wrestling ring and other features that will captivate pinball players of all skill levels."

WWE Wrestlemania is the first pinball machine to feature Stern's recently announced SPIKETM electronics hardware system. The new technology reduces product complexity and simplifies manufacturing, resulting in more reliable and easier-to-service games. SPIKETM is both modular and scalable, accommodating and supporting future designs. Players will quickly appreciate higher quality sound, enhanced illumination effects and a more engaging overall game experience.

At the CES 2015 Stern will also be showing its Star Trek, The Walking Dead, and Ford Mustang pinball machines.

WWE Wrestlemania Pro Model: $5,495 (MSRP)

About WWE

Exciting! It looks like an 'interesting' theme. Could be big and loud. And I guess, WWE is mega in the US so this is more for that market.

I think theme is 50% of a game. I hated Mustang because it was boring to play while Star Trek is like being onboard the Enterprise and is the best game ever.

But not every game can be dark/sci-fi/movie based.

Either way - can't wait to play it some time...

The theme is dreadful for me but give Stern credit for actually having a working machine that people can buy.

Hopefully it plays well but I think UK sales will be minimal. Anyone thinking of buying one? I'd suspect UK sales will be even lower than Mustang.

I wonder what the new board will do if they still don't have a video display?

I'm pretty surprised at this title, JJP must be breathing a sigh of relief as I'd suspect a stronger theme could have seen them losing another bunch of Hobbit sales and thought Stern might have stuck out a VE of LOTR as a market spoiler.

God that's gonna be dull bouncing the ball off those rubbers in the ring to hit the targets.

Although its a pinball sure it will still be fun to play overall

This is how it works for me. I'm not a fan of fantasy stuff at all, but gave LOTR the pinball machine a chance and it was great. I also can't stand Metallica music, but the way the theme was interpreted in the pin didn't offend - and I like that one too. Same with FT, DW, etc, etc. But I don't ever see me owning a WOZ 'cos I actually dislike the theme. Wrestling does nothing for me at all, but it gets good reviews and look good, I'd potentially have one.
