Rumour of rebranding 'Queen' pinball to 'King'?

King Charles/ or more likely George or Louis won't be popular and the monarchy may give way to the British Republic

Will be interesting to see what happens with TV over the various channels - I remember my puzzlement at waking up & the airwaves being full of morose band music & not knowing why til I heard the Di news. May have to watch frivolity on catch-up - or will they block that temporarily?

It'll be absolutely dismal back-to-back repetitive drivel...Netflix, Prime and Spotify for the next few weeks I think.

Well the BBC has gone balls deep already. Schedule suspended And unbelievably the grief ghouls are laying flowers outside Buck Palace already. Gonna look pretty stupid if she is fine tomorrow.
I suspect she has shuffled off already, official announcement within hours my bet.
 
Are the Dimblebees still on retainer or is it all 'dangerous' Hew Edward's? They'll get Claire Balding in. A good thing too.
 
I'm really not a fan of the royal family, nor the institution of the monarchy, but there are very few deaths I would actively celebrate and this certainly isn't one of them.

I won't however be sad, just as I'm not actively sad when other 90+ year olds I don't personally know die of natural causes. I do feel for the royal family on a human level though, as losing a loved one is always awful.

Really not looking forward to the 24/7 media coverage. That's going to be tiring.

I'd love it if we see her waving a gloved hand from a car with a cheeky grin.

Just said the same to my wife, came home from work and she’s watching beeb 1, and they are basically saying it, without saying it, so yeah I think she’s already gone
 
Stepdaughter has a mate who has a mate who works at the Beeb & reckons they've already been told.
 
After the imposed grief fest of Dianna when all the terrestrial stations tried outdoing each other to appear devastated I’m bloody glad there’s a bigger range of entertainment sources now.

To be honest I’ll have mixed feelings. At heart I struggle to care about royal stuff but the queen has been a constant figure for anyone who grew up in the U.K.

Really can’t see Charlie being held to the same regard.
 
I had to click and look, knowing the way the world is these days I wouldn’t have been bloody surprised if something like this was being considered.
 
It’s a sad day for sure. I’m no royalist but QE2 was one of the most hard working and noble heads of state. She will be missed for sure. RIP.

18:40 the government activated project London bridge which is the plan for this sad moment.

the network went absolutely nuts at the announcement and is still very busy.

The last time a British monarch died, 65 years ago, the passing of George VI was conveyed in a code word, “Hyde Park Corner”, to Buckingham Palace, to prevent switchboard operators from finding out.
For Elizabeth II, the plan is known as “London Bridge.” The prime minister will be woken, if she is not already awake, and civil servants will say “London Bridge is down” on secure lines.

Worst kept secret ever. Misses called me and said "they have closed London Bridge".... knew what was coming next...
