Can't you shim off a little bit of that foam?of trim the plastic on the speaker mounts? You only need to get a tiny grip on them

It looks like foam, but it's actually metal. If I remove the light diffuser I can just about get them on, but think it needs the diffuser to look right.
 
I can't think of a way to get them secured so will save them for another Pin, can still use the sub.

I've ordered some Kenwood KFC-1366S, same as what comes in the LEs.
