Hi

Martin due here this week with a Tron Pro. Strangely I have not been this excited since my 1st machine.

Going to need to move things about to make room, thinking of setting the Tron on its own away from the main line up, now I have received this in the post today from China

Tron recogniser neon sign

Will post photo again once in games room with Tron. Hopefully should look good with the 120ft of blue neon EL wire already installed in the skirting boards.

I think the sign looks awesome, even with picture taken of it under my desk, for less than £100 including shipping!

Spent lunchtime painting the 'spillover' room, hopefully will get a couple of the not so used machines in here. Needs another coat tonight.

Tron coming tomorrow :)

I see there is a tron legacy sequel in the works wander if there will be a new pin or an updated version of the existing one?

Hi

Martin dropped off this morning and helped to put the legs on.

Just fired up Tron and it says contact your distributor as not for this country!.... Any ideas ? , the previous guy must of done a reset?

A bit of a let down

Regards

Ian

Had that when I updated the software last time. Powered on and off then all OK.

Cheers Tony

How does it know which country it's in? It has a tracker?

That games room is a sight to behold. I'm saving that picture to show the missus what I have in mind.

Thanks guys, now my lunch time, so will try the switching on /off again..... hope that simple

Good point though, how does it know where it is?

It detects what the mains frequency is... Yes there are ways around it but not easily done unless you have suitable contacts...

Ah, thats what i was thinking actually. Was it checking for step-down thingy..

Tron working.jpg

Working:) , but not each time..... probably 50/50

I'm fairly rural so may be some voltage issues, but other machines have not had this issue.

Great games room there, very impressed.
I was speaking to someone earlier about this and we talked about the ways round it in simple terms. US have 110v 60hz whilst Europe have 240v 50hz and I believe it is the hz that the machine can detect. Distributer imported machines have them adapted so they work but private imported machines need to be 'fixed'.
I then went looking for the kit needed to convert hz from 50 to 60 and found some kit that was expensive and some other kit that had no promises. I might look into this a bit more if I ever got close to importing a Stern.

Think all Trons sold by Pinball Heaven are like this, so likely from there originally. They're US models adapted to work in UK, mine does the same occasionally. Switch off for ten secs. as mentioned above and it always sorts itself. Have a word with Phil at PH if having difficulties.

Get the updated code installed if not already in there, makes some nice changes to the game setup.

I Think its running V1.5 if that means anything?

Thats one cool gamesroom.... Oh if only....

A lifetime, well seems like it, 26 years in the insurance sector has been mostly good for me, other than my health! Moved to the South West to relax and live longer, play lots of Pinball with my kids :)

Lovely room Ian. Something for me to aspire to.

I'm glad to say i've made a start - first Pinball is in the house and i've dropped some comments about us moving in a few years. Somewhere with a dedicated gaming room or at least enough room outside for a glorified gaming shed. No 'tutting' from her suggests she's not against the idea. Plenty of time to work on her in the meantime.

I need to find a house where she can have a massive shoe cupboard - fair trade off in my view. ;)

This room started life as an indoor swimming pool!!

Now to start thinking about Mods for Tron :)

(1) Have bought a couple of light cycles off ebay to wire in.
(2) Have ordered Flynn's sign for the playfield from the US
(3) LED's next, read cointakers are very good, but Phil at PH does a kit so probably will go that route.
