thanks everyone ive decided to take the plunge and go for the ultimate kit for my JM , really appreciate everyones advice ...should be here in the next few days thanks everyone
I’ve heard pinsound mixes on the likes of TZ, whitewater and it just doesn’t suit the game. I can’t imagine it would be a good idea with TOM, SS, AFM or MM either.
I understand the allure of Pinsound and it works if you're almost retheming the game, like @s000m s BSD. But for me part of the charm and enjoyment of pinball is the sound effects and music. I find nothing wrong with the quality on most, they're pinball machines not high end audio systems.
I've not played any of my games and thought "oh that sounds bad" or that I'd like to change the music.
If you could get higher bitrate versions of the original audio with better speakers I'd be interested but as far as I know it's just custom mixes and you can't improve the original audio?
As I'm currently working on a Live 1969/70 version of Tommy using PinSound Studio.
I personally would not own this game if this was just the original Data East sound roms.
Pinsound can really change the dynamics of the older games and as some of the playfield layouts are far superior to todays machines. You have a better pin..
I’ve looked into pinsound and from what I’ve watched/heard it’s a real enhancement on certain pins.
When funds permit I will be installing it on sttng and lotr but probably not on afm.
Guess it’s like all pinball mods, you’re always going to have two camps on whether it enhances or detracts from the pin.
