Pinball Rankings, Kind of Meaningless ?

The issue was that my review was not in agreement with the 'staff'. Hence, tagged as bogus then deleted.

If I'd given MM a really low score then yes, but 6.5 is probably just an average score.

This review?

“Like most late Williams pinballs, MM is an excellent game for skilled players but shockingly bad for beginners.

Lacks any form of artistry in cabinet, backglass or playfield. The pinnacle of bland.” 6.533/10

It's been tagged as bogus by other users but you can easiily apply a filter to include tagged reviews.

I doubt there is a conspiracy by the staff to preserve MM's pole position, it's more likely to have been tagged by a few narrrow minded MM owners.

I always enjoy looking at IPDB/Pinside etc when looking to buy a machine, but I always think the comments are the best part and give a good idea of whether I will enjoy it or not. As everyone has said, "scores" are always going to be too subjective, but readying 10-20 reviews gives me a great idea of whether I will enjoy it or not :)

Abaxas you should complain to the Pinside mods, the system is flawed if genuine reviews get flagged.

100% agree

please do so publicly in a thread that all can see, and post the link here. i am more than happy to come and chime in my agreement with your complaint if that is indeed what is happening, and i bet that a half dozen others from here would gladly do the same. that's complete bullcrap for them to allow genuine opinions to be 'flagged' and so ignored, so i agree it is time to call them out on it and start a debate on the subject.

I've had my rant in my rating against Metallica on Pinside.com flagged as bogus too...

It doesn't really bother me, as most of the active posters on Pinside are rich Yanks that are defending their own pet machines.
