Pin2DMD

Indeed! Have been looking at this recently for it's ability to allow the user to colour Frames on a DMD myself, for something that is less than likely to ever be released by colordmd :(
 
I just can't justify colour dmd prices.
500e is a lot of coin.
It's hard to get a final figure on how much a p2dmd set up actually is.

Yea getaway is sold. Always sorry to see one go but it's not gone too far and it's in good hands.

Well when I get a chance anyhow. Really great game, even like the music (can't beat a bit of country now and then)
We are maybe looking at another meet in Belfast at the end of May but will know more soon.

Hopefully fit another one down there before then ?

That is a STM32F429. Our project is based on the cheaper STM32F407 board. You find the source of V1 on github here

I'm still waiting for the pinballsp boards to be released - GREAT news to see you are hoping to support those boards :) They are looking very nice, and a great alternative to older displays, with the option to colour :)

hope to get my samples of the pinballsp board in the next weeks. I hope to support the wifi extension with one of the next releases as an alternative to usb connection.Rappelbox (EU Hardware supplier for pin2dmd) will also bundle the pinballsp boards together with panels and frame.
 
Thats great news too :) The guys at pinballsp already have my contact info for release of these. Wanted to get colouring before, however without the board, no licence - no licence, no colouring :( lol

We'll get there :D

Looking forward to playing with the finished result :)

Hi Lucky and welcome to the forum.

I didn't have the right sized panel, so I ordered one from an a$$hole seller on Ali Express that was advertising there panel for Pin2DMD (they even put photos showing it running in a pinball machine) Anyway they sent me the square panel that can't be split, so that was a waste of £42. I've raised a dispute with Ali Express, but the seller has rejected it. They keep arguing over and over again that I ordered the wrong panel.

Anyway, I hope I will have the right panel sorted soon from another seller who has got them back in stock so fingers crossed
 
Anyone (i'm looking at you @Lucky1 / @lukewells ;) ) any suggestions of which RGB panels to get from Aliexpress to replicate a standard sized pinball display properly?? (Trying to avoid the nightmare luke had above....)

I have a couple on the way to allow me to try out in the clocks as a trial run, however those are Single colour only :) Want to be in a position where I can order a board when they become available :)

I don't see how the scumbag can argue that I bought the wrong display when THIS is the only item they had listed in their store that says "Perfect for PIN2DMD" in the title and then also has loads of photos showing them in pinball machines :mad:
 
I don´t know this seller but he says in his offer that you have 3 options to order

1) p2.5, Größe 160mm x 160mm, 1/32 Scan
2) p2.5, Größe 160mm x 160mm, 1/16 Scan
3) p2.5, 160mm x 80mm, 1/16 Scan

For easy installation 2 times option 3 is the best.
Alternatively you can use option 2, remove the 2 panels and saw the frame in two halves.
 
Has anyone gottten one of these setup yet?

One of my dmds just died so I need to get it replaced and think one of these would be the best option. Think I'll put it into my sttng
 
I have no idea what a F427 is but I know i want one of these.
Is it just a case of dropping files onto an SD card and off you go?
 
Yeah I don't like the look of the smartdmd. Watched a tnt video of Creech recently and I thought it ruined the look of the game.

I want my pixels!

Just in contact with the seller of pin2dmd now, so hopefully I'll order one next week
