So this problem has reared it's ugly head at more than one tournament. If you are going to attend a tournament then have the b&%%dy decency to take care of your personal hygiene. Other players have also commented on it and are in agreement that this should be addressed. It is just unacceptable and there is no excuse for not having a shower. I understand that it can get warm in these environments when there is a large gathering and we all sweat but use ANTI PERSPIRANT and NOT DEODORANT. This is just rude and disrespectful for everyone that has to endure someone else's body odour, SORT IT OUT !!!

I believe I know who you are referring to. I've heard a few complaints in recent weeks 🙈

I think their lifestyle might be having an influence on it 😂

I find most people are pretty good. There's sometimes a common offender, maybe they aren't aware?

I did get a whiff of someone at a recent event. It's not nice at all, but maybe like others have said they might not even know themselves!!

Fair point David. I compare it to if someone was using excessive foul language with under 16's present, the host would surely pull them up on it. The same should be done here, the host should pull them to one side. Well done by the way yesterday at Novemberfest coming runner up to the "Real take away meal". I thought you had a dodgy back?

Usually the comments or complaints come after the event. It's still a very awkward conversation and I'd struggle with it. Probably a job for @Lecari like every else people facing 😂

Cheers, I'm sure @NateG119 will agree, I nearly had first place 🤣. I have a new back, but still in recovery although apparently it's going fantastic. I've never played so well if the last two events are a true representation! Or just a coincidence.

Should be written into the rules of attending a tournament - if personal hygiene causes discomfort to others you will be asked to leave.

I've asked people to leave Tilt before over this issue.
How did they take the news Kirk. Must’ve been an awkward conversation.
Just curious to know how it panned out

“I find straight forward honesty is sometimes needed, are you aware you have a bad odour issue that is made more obvious by the heat and build up of people in these environments?”

Then passively accept the embarrassment, anger and insults that come your way.

Threads like this might make some people think about having a good wash before an event but if we don’t tell the people directly, most really won’t take a hint.

it’s a very embarrassing matter and very awkward to address. No one should be outed in public. It’s humiliating.

The problem should really be pointed out to the host/organiser and they should have a discreet and private word with the person who has the hygiene issues.

I’ve had to do this a few times in my career at work. It’s a tough one to tackle.

I remember my old boss having a word with someone and he just gave him a can of deodorant and told him to sort himself out 🙈

Agreed, good call 👍

One person responded to me with “yeah, I know. I can take four showers in a day and it never helps”.
A few years later he married and stopped having a body odour, which seems to indicate there was something they could do to stop the situation but never really cared.
