PBR Birthday Bash

You'll get better at the classics the more you play them Dean. They require more of a deft touch, you have to realise they don't play like the modern machines. Most new players also make the mistake of tilting them too, just remember nearly all modern games don't give much bonus where as the classics can be huge.
Thanks mate. I just need to play them more. I enjoyed the experience of playing them at PBR and I did get a couple of good results on them but mostly last places on the classics. I need @Tilt_Birmingham to open up his classics room for more practice ha ha

Another great weekend, Happy Birthday PBR!

Saturday saw Josh and Yuen battling it out at the top for most of the day, both finishing well clear of the pack but neither could keep the level up to take the win, well deserved by Matt

Sunday's PinGolf was a more relaxed, I really enjoy Pingolf, maybe because it's about hitting targets and not the mega-scores you have to go for in normal play.

Josh was beaten by one shot to the top qualifying spot by Kirk (64) - clearly helped by the Egg Nog Latte ;)

Kirk's failure to win his first round meant the second round brought together up the top 3 qualifiers for a mega game of No Fear. Matt started with 1.2B, finishing on 1.5 with Josh going past to lead on 1.6B. Kirk hadn't really got much going, so was left needing a huge score on ball 3 and somehow managed multiple saves on two dangers, leaving Matt feeling slightly hard done by to go out with 1.5B!

Josh managed to take the win

With Kirk, Kevin and Dan rounding out the top places.

Daniel Vince qualified for the finals, but was unable to play due to having a football match (which he won)

That was an awesome weekend of pinball, I really enjoyed both days. Matchplay was a long one for sure, but worth it. Pingolf on Sunday made for a far more relaxed and shorter session. Thanks to Matt and everyone at PBR, founders and members alike, who make it such a great club. It was cool to meet some new folk, and also chat more with some of you I've only briefly met before. Looking forward to the next one!

Nice to meet Chris P and Kevlar who asked if I’m on the forum - I've decided to stop being such a lurker and maybe post a little more. Oh, and thanks also to Martyn for taking the time to talk me through some technique advice, which is always appreciated.

If you're London based and not making use of PBR, you're missing out.
