There appears to be 2 clear camps emerging on this site since the old days of the friendly sales forum. Those who want to see it return and those who don't.

I've given some insight as to how **** this could end up being.. (apologies to the mods for creating work for you but hopefully illustrates the point).

It is already in the classifieds but no interest so i was making folk aware of two things, first of all it`s still for sale and secondly i have dropped the price , thank you.

So - rather than changing the price, if you put "on sale" then it will show people the original price and also the current price.
Also - one of the beauties of the new classifieds is that it either expires after a month (which can be renewed) OR that fact that if it is still listed then it's available? Of course, that is dependant on those selling updating when their is sold...

There is also the possability that :
1. no-one is interested
2. No-one is interested at the price it is listed as (would like to think people could use the "contact seller" if they want to haggle).....

I am sure that if someone listed a Wh2o for £500 then it would be sold in minutes, wherever it was for sale!!!

Not sure where or how you want to bump it? Its not a forum - therefore it doesnt bump anywhere.....
What I am saying is that if you could have edited it and bumped it John would probably not have posted it here
I listed the cv playfield some time ago with no interest I wanted to reduce the price and add something so I have to totally re list the item that’s stupid
I have been reasonably quite about the change s and I do appreciate the time and effort that goes in to the forum I did also vote for classified s but it’s simply not working for me or most other group members
As probably the biggest contributor to the for sale section I feel it’s a bit sad that I may have to explore other avenues to sell my pinball machines because I do really love this forum and it worked perfectly for me before the classified s came along

I’m going to chip in , firstly Neil, calm down a little the poor lad was just trying to get some views on his post this isn’t the domino pinball forum secondly I’m just going to say it , this site is now very confusing to use. I appreciate that members take the effort to run the site and we have already discussed financing this forum via donations but new new look site is frustrating to use or at least hard to get to grips with Like I have said I think the forum as a resource is invaluable and that is down to the mods and the members who Produce content for it.

No you dont - Edit the Ad, Tick "Set Sale price"..... and put your updated asking price in....

Then if you wish to reduce it, just edit the Ad and change the Sale price again.... it shows the original price and then the newly updated price.

Old way - the user updates the price in the title, forgets the one in the description, and then the confusion starts... This way you can see the original price and the "current" price.

Ok that’s fair enough but if it was 2 or 3 pages in it will never get even noticed
I listed the di as just a quick list when I was at the customer s house a few weeks ago after getting it home setting it up after a week I wanted to put up better pics and description and make adjustments to some other things but again it’s a lot of hassle to be 3 pages back so that got sold cheep to a trader

ok - Devils advocate here - If i was looking for a machine, i would select the "Machines for sale" category, and scroll down. if there was a second page then i would look at that. There's even a Map to show you where the items are.... https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/classifieds/full-map (as long as the "location" was accurate)... always useful to find a machine thats close to you.

Old way - You would potentially have to scroll to see what was available, then message the person or post to see if it was still for sale....

If someone wants to watch the caetgory in question, you can set up a watch on that particular category... for example i have one set on "machines for sale"....

Click on classifieds
Click on the relavent category
Top right - "Watch" :)

Because machine Ads time out after 30 days (is 2 clicks to Renew) and parts after i think 45 days, this keeps the listings updated. Also means there isnt 50 threads to dig through to find the item you may be looking for.

I think this is already happening, a number of people I know are going to eBay I instead of selling here.

I am yet to see any positive support for the Classifieds, over the old For Sale forum!

It's more hassle to list on Ebay... You have to provide the ins and outs of a cats **** there, and unless listing on a £1 day (which interestingly seems to be few and far between at the moment) they do like their £££

I'm currently investigating an option where classifieds Ads are part of a forum... So a similar thing to the old way, however templated and presented in a similar way.
Also investigating fall back of the old forum should that not work out.

At the end of the day, if things always stayed the same, we would all still be on Yahoo Groups, with awkward ways to view pictures and access files. I get it - People dont like change, and some people have valid concerns, however if we all just stayed the same then we would still be living in caves.
