FantasticNew board arrived today and just fitted. I now have a fully operational GOTG![]()
Your node board is the newer version which I sent todler this last time and that works which is great. So you shouldn’t have any problemSo just to clarify you had a faulty node board, replaced it with another node board which turned out to be faulty, and finally got a third one which worked?
I bought a spare recently on here to keep handy but haven't tried it. Making me a little nervous if there's a bad batch of them.
Stern also said there was a batch not programmed correctly so after the distributor tested them they “lost” the program (or something like that). Again no warranty and how do you prove? I will go back and let them know another board works correctly.Your node board is the newer version which I sent todler this last time and that works which is great. So you shouldn’t have any problem
Both node boards I’ve sent todler came from pinballife which basically they say come tested working and due to the nature of the boards offer no warranty once fitted which isn’t great but I get why in case the fault that blew the first board isn’t rectified and then on to blow the second
Pinball heaven normally have some, retro might. Check that it's not a pin issue first. Is it showing undetectedThanks to the original poster for this thread
I'm also having a node 9 board issue on my IM. Does anyone know if replacements are readily available in the UK? Cheers.
YepThanks for the links chaps.
I reseated cables and swapped the boards round, so it definitely looks like a failure.

Don't know, for me getting it repaired the quoted cost £130 by the time it posted a new one was £160 at the time so for £30 more for a new one was my choice. If it had been a massive difference repairing would be my first choice, I was able to sell my faulty board, so it wasn't a huge difference.Urgh, my first node board failure (Star Wars Pro). Will lift the playfield tomorrow to have a proper look. I do have a spare.
How have people been getting on with repaired ones? New ones are £175 - £190.

Can be repaired most likely but i don’t want to work for free so yeah it’s usually £100 plus vat and shipping (from me anyway) to repair one.Urgh, my first node board failure (Star Wars Pro). Will lift the playfield tomorrow to have a proper look. I do have a spare.

Look at the LEDs on the board - if only the red one comes on then it's mostly likely the 6V regulator gone bust, as mentioned here: https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/threads/node-board-repair.55565/post-588485Urgh, my first node board failure (Star Wars Pro). Don't worry, I definitely won't be attempting any fixes myself!I should also say if you try to do it first yourself, don’t send me it after you fail !!I only accept virgin broken ones!
Update - In an effort to size up a bit of foam on the faulty Node Board, I bent one of the pins on the diode so one of the pins has come up from the board. In an effort to try to prevent the issue I've actually caused the issueNew board in and working.
I've noticed Node 8 is missing the stabilisation fix. I'm guessing a small bit of foam will do in place of the official plastic spacer?
