Hi

AS is a wide body, like me. But has weedy leg brackets. Am going to run an earth braid around cab soon and will be replacing existing leg brackets and connecting them to the braid, was hoping these large leg brackets would fit:

The flat across the angle measures 5.9cm.

Anyone got one they can ping me an pic off and some measurement on the pic, or have y replaced them please?

Hope this helps a bit IMG_2180.webpIMG_2178.webpIMG_2182.webp
I think I was going to fit them brackets myself on this SI but decided not to for some reason 🤔 so refitted the original ones back on . The new replacement ones are a bit thicker them the original weedy one as shown it above.

Ps the painted bracket is a repaired one but is the same as your link 👍

thanks, what is the outside measurement from angle to angle please, i need to know if the bracket will fit in the corner and line up okay.

The gap i have to fill is 47mm on the hypotenuse as it were - the triangular piece of wood may be too deep so that there will be slop in the bracket and won't make good contact with the sides of the box... Or i may be able to - adjust the wings of the bracket - worth a try thank you!

That bracket you have, nice welded nut - that ain going any where...

I think I would probably knock off the triangle strengthener with my chisel and replace/ reduce and re-glue back etc don’t forget I am a joiner 🤪 or …you could add metal packers to fill the gap , instead of trying to bend the bracket to touch the sides of the cabinet ?

Or wood packer to fill the gap pva to cabinet and longer screws that go through bracket and packer and then into cabinet.

You will need about 2.2mm packers to get a 41mm hypotenuse.

[Edited to change packer thickness requirements.]

Okay, so got the large leg brackets and as predicted i have 3.5mm slop eatherside. So i got a hold of some milliput and packed out the bracket so it sits flush. I have a metal worker near by so have taken the bracket with the milliput profile and asked him to recreate 4 new brackets.

I just need to get the nuts, 3/8-16 thread - that the correct size and pitch?

I will get hm to do one bracket no nuts, i will then take back and double check on all corners before he welds.
