Anyone with mirror blades on theirs could post a photo please? I'm toying with the idea of getting some for mine and couldn't find any pics online.

I´m looking for a user who wants to go far with mirror vinyl, but not with a entire mirror blades only in some part. In this way I want to order Metal fence in my design in chrome vinyl. For to do that, it is needed to add white ink during impression. I think the result can be gorgeous!

For to protect blades, the best choice is hard/rough protective lamination, because mirror vinyl is very easy to scratch it going up and down the playfield.

Details in "Jurassic Park Pinball Baldes - Inner Side Art" (DATA EAST) printed on vinyl with rough/hard protective lamination (photo 4).

And this is an example of my blades sticked, but it be better with real chrome fences.

With a pair of users, it can be cheap!

Cheers!

I don’t get on with the game and mine didn’t stay long but they are so good it makes me want to buy another one 😂

May as well resurrect this thread rather than starting another.

I played JP at Tilt against Greg in the semi finals on Sunday.

During my game I had T-Rex MB ready to go with just a single hit to the truck as well as smart missile lit. I chose start Raptor MB, glanced the truck (starting T-Rex MB) and also hit the stand-up to stack Raptor MB into it. All known behaviour. This can be mitigated against by not having the T-rex MB start immediately after hitting the truck by changing the truck settings.

Where the issue arose was that a ball was already held in the raptor cage, which remained there throughout regardless of how many time I hit the gate, and effectively meant that I was playing the final part of both MBs with only 1 ball in play (while the other was trapped). After draining that ball the machine went in to ball search and released the ball from the cage.

Has anybody else seen this behaviour, with it effectively losing track of the ball altogether?

Have you tried asking in the Rayday discord? They'll definitely know.
Sounds like a trapped ball in MB, call a TD?

Always this. As soon as you realise something is wrong, trap up and call a TD. Even if you know what the ruling will be or your experience of these situations, trap up and call a TD. A TD may not always make the right call, but at least as a player you have done your bit.

In this specific situation, the attached verbiage is from the IFPA website in regards to stuck balls like this situation.

Josh says

The moment that ball wasn't released when the multiball started, IMO that's clearly a 'something is wrong moment'. Trap up, deal with the stuck ball.

Assuming the player didn't trap up and played things out, the TD can determine if that beneficial malfunction was "significant".
If their score is AWESOME . . .then 'yep'
If their score still sucks . . . then 'nope'
if Yep - ask the player about their intent
if they took advantage of the situation intentionally = DQ
If not = Void and replay
(or if the score before the malfunction is known, take that score and give additional comp balls as necessary)

But it wasn't a known trapped ball because you can deliberately lock the ball to get double scoring on the Prem model.
Hitting all three targets in the Raptor Pen and then making the dead-end lane will double all Jackpots collected for 15 seconds. Hitting the now-captive ball on the Prem / LE will reset the 15 second timer; on the Pro model, the same basic rule applies to get 2x scoring, but the ball cannot be locked.

A fuller more involved explanation is here:

Ah ok, thanks for that link Wayne. From my perspective you have done everything you could then. As long as you called over a TD and tried to explain the game state and the TD has decided the ruling of play on, you're all good.

It's clearly a pretty rare situation that has occurred. But based on everything I've read I'm pretty confident that's a stuck ball behind the raptor visor. If you're playing a multiball in single ball play, able to score multiple jackpots and add multiple balls into play, then when you go down to one ball, then lose that one and it has to do a ball search to find the missing ball, it's a trapped ball and hadn't registered behind the visor (for 2x scoring, or anything).

But these new Sterns are complicated and we can't know all rules to all games. That's why calling a TD over if there is any uncertainty (we all know that playing a single ball multiball is wrong) is always the right course of action. Sounds like you did that and the ruling was play on, so you did everything you could.

Personally I think my ruling would have been different and I would have followed Josh's list from above and it's a major malfunction where you have benefitted without any knowing intent and it would have been a game restart. But I wasn't the TD and wouldn't have really wanted to be as that's a difficult call to make!
