Jurassic park 30th anniversary!

Disagree with that.
Venom is not selling well at all.. $13K for an LE seems to be the boiling point.

Surely releasing this will hurt brand new Venom sales… unless this why they have released it now, because they need revenue and Venom isn’t it

How do you know it's not selling? Its only ever hearsay unless you have access to the Stern's books

PH still has 3 left… yeah I know it is Phil’s second lot.. probably because they aren’t selling in US.

New price increase has killed the LE market. $13K is the boiling point.. The theme has to be killer to get that kinda cash. Just read the threads on Pinside..

I don’t think they will sell all the 500 JJP2 for $13K JJP2 has been out for a few years, and now a bit of new DLC code..

Seth has ****ed it up.

Even the Bond 60th are getting dumped for a lot less than RRP.

There have not been many titles where LEs are still available after a few weeks/month after reveal.

I remember the hate for STh. I picked up a NIB one over 8 months after they were released due to the bad press. Give Venom a chance, it looks super interesting IMHO, but nothing can save Doppelgangers Brazilian butt lift.

Back to JP2.5, I think calling it an LE was bad, should have called it 30th anniversary edition.

When I saw the first tease video I thought it was the old data east game bought up to modern times with the LCD screen etc.

When it said 30th anniversary I really expected to see the old DE game with the modern twist.

@Tilt_Birmingham - you are 100% right - this is really going to knark off 500 LE owners.

Must admit - I do not have an issue with DLC extras. Most video games have add on packs. If you could add extra stuff to your game for say $200 then why not - some mad people spend £2K on a cr@ppy topper.

I initially thought that too. Would have been cool!

The idea is no different than what JJP have been doing for years. It started off with their WOZ LE that turned into Ruby Edition and then followed by the Yellow Brick Road Edition.
It looks to me that Stern have copied the idea from JJP.

For the record I think the JP30 LE looks great, just a shame about the price.

It wouldn’t be too hard to covert an existing JP premium to look similar to the latest version. Just powder coat your armour and pop in a 3rd party translite.

Love your new Avatar, Chris.

Someone make a Beave & Butt pin please!

£15,999 for this one list price?

Bet the art files get leaked like they always do (it’s how all these knock off banners get made from the original art files) and you can knock up the new art in time.

WOZ ECLE was £6500 NIB tbf. Bargain in hindsight

Love the back glass

Its a shame Stern are going down this route of pi$$ing off current LE owners like myself and devaluing the current LE's to line their pockets....

Problem is hobby is big enough for any game they build people will line up for no matter what the price.

Not sure I agree. The tide is turning in the states, and everywhere else too. This'll be another flop.

As Dave mentioned, the LEs hanging about is the first time that's ever happened, which is one indicator. Think about it this way too - 6 new games came out 6 months ago. One since then. The covid rush has ended, and from those newcomers that did stick around, only a few will be NIB buyers. The scene hasn't grown significantly. All of us, everyone here, is running out of space. Same for all pin collectors. To buy a new pin, we pretty much have to get rid of an old one, which only works if there's someone who will buy it off you. But because everyone is trying to liquidate to either make space, or raise capital for the newer, insanely expensive games, the second hand market has stalled.

The market is saturated.

I wonder what would be the second hand value on it in this market after a year with 300 plays on it
I sold my Le for £11500 with topper and shooter rod so can’t be anymore than that as standard
I also think the original Le looks much nicer in green and you get the software update for free
Times have most definitely changed

Feels like the wrong time to be charging for extra downloadable content, and upping the price for an already established machine (albeit one with new clobber on).

Misstep for sure. And now Stern are stuck with a pricing structure that's not going to match the new conditions. It's easy to raise prices, you can always blame inflation. Dropping them though? It's essentially an admission that they've been gouging.

Stern's next move is fascinating Davey mate.

I think essentially they have possibly the two most in demand designers and the best artist. However John Borg producing Rush under the current climate would not yield the same results as 2021 (or whenever it was).

With Elwin on design and a popular theme they'll still sell a lot of games. However, they may find their decision to move to a new factory and up production is poorly timed.

Venom was always a lame theme.
How about a Superman 78 - Christopher Reeve?
Jurassic Park probably a great pin but for the dollars I expect more IP not just Dennis Nedry.

I find it totally perplexing, to be honest. I could understand it if JP2 was out of production (and rare) because then it would the only way to get a popular title NIB, with more bling than the original.

So, for example, if they vaulted Tron, Metallica or LoTR, that would be a tempting way to get those older titles.

As it is, I’ve just bought a Premium, which came with Insider Connected. I’ve got access to the new code and the only significant difference is a slightly different art package and a powder coat that I can replicate. I mean, literally replicate, as they put ‘illusion copper’ in the description, which is a branded product that you can order in from the States 🤷‍♂️

So, who is the audience tempted by this…? Certainly not potential LE collectors, to whom Stern has just signalled their ‘limited edition’ isn’t. And not the audience for the repeats of early JJPs either (or TNA), where there was later demand for a limited run for popular titles (so, the same as if they vaulted Metallica or even something like Walking Dead).

I think the problem now with doing vault edition on the older games is again the price £8500 for a pro nib when you can pick up a nice huo one for probably £5500 and this would probably with lots of mods including colour display
This new JP being a perfect example, £15.999 for this one or a premium for just over half of that? Premium is the no brainer and the art files will likely get leaked like they always do.

US collectors are saying the US allocation has sold out 😔
From Stern to distributors, same “sold out” nonsense happens every release. Still available at US dizzys.

Stern wont drop prices.. but if people wont pay the new prices then a few ideas..

*Stern will sweeten the bitter pill by spending a bit more on BOM and put a few more mechs in games to justify price. What’s another $20 to get that extra $3K 🤔
* Limit LE games back down to 250-500 to get that FOMO.. this may work for some themes but already proven LIMITED EDITION isn’t worth the plaque it’s written on…
*DLC code will take over.. games realeased bare bones and every update will cost $10..
