I find it totally perplexing, to be honest. I could understand it if JP2 was out of production (and rare) because then it would the only way to get a popular title NIB, with more bling than the original.
So, for example, if they vaulted Tron, Metallica or LoTR, that would be a tempting way to get those older titles.
As it is, I’ve just bought a Premium, which came with Insider Connected. I’ve got access to the new code and the only significant difference is a slightly different art package and a powder coat that I can replicate. I mean, literally replicate, as they put ‘illusion copper’ in the description, which is a branded product that you can order in from the States
So, who is the audience tempted by this…? Certainly not potential LE collectors, to whom Stern has just signalled their ‘limited edition’ isn’t. And not the audience for the repeats of early JJPs either (or TNA), where there was later demand for a limited run for popular titles (so, the same as if they vaulted Metallica or even something like Walking Dead).
