JJP Harry Potter -Confirmed

Wonder if arcade is for bars public places and has some sort of content difference. Wasn't one of the stumbling blocks outside of the licence cost that Jk Rowling wouldn't sign of on it on pinball as they relate to her perception of gambling and found in bars. Maybe arcade it can only be sold 500 so only in a very small number in a particular territory. No idea how you would police it, just thinking out load. If wizard is unlimited numbers has the same artwork and toys that would make the most logical sense.

That was touched on in the interview and Jack said there was never an issue with pinball. So we can safely say there will be no limit on Wizard and Arcade games. I believe Jack said there was a topper on the wizard and just me thinking here I suppose there could be powder coat/ lit speakers etc. But the Arcade having all the toys could make it a big seller imo .

Definitely, never watched the video so the only difference is powder coating, flashing speaker lights, probably some other flashing lights, certificate, plastic topper, sign me up for the arcade!

We know JJP games are not cheap but it's a clever move giving the 3rd tier game all the toys. Even though you will still pay plenty you will save a tidy sum over the other games.

Easier to manufacture and support as well.

Pits of powder coated metal wouldn't impact production lines

The problem is that no one ever wanted the cheaper option jjp games hence they where axed after gnr
The market changed now and lots of people getting forced outta,NIB
due to pricing
Even stern pros are becoming more mainstream due to uncertainty in current
climate and the loss is lot less if moving machines on which lots of people like to rotate their pins
Arcade version could be a sweet spot for people who can still add down line if wish
And jack stated that no toys will be missing or gameplay
Which wasn't case in previous versions
Correct ne if I'm wrong though

The earlier JJP games didn’t have anything missing toys/playfield wise on the entry model - eg Woz, hobbit, Pirates, Dialed In. It was GnR Standard Edition where they tried pulling a load of stuff out the game compared to the LE and CE and it didn’t work out well for them. Glad to hear they are going back to this model.

I think there’s a real cliff edge age about loving HP.

I’ve never seen any of the films or read the books. I’ve got massive respect for any author who manages to get kids interested in reading but the whole premise seemed really hammy and overdone to me.

I know lots of people who are my age who are in the same boat but take 5-10 years off my age and it’s hard to deny it was an utter cultural phenomenon for them.

Then drop down to my kids age group and there’s little to no interest again. I can’t remember the last time I saw any kids at school reading one of the books. It has to be a good 5-10 years ago. There’s still a few who read LOTR and Percy Jackson stuff though. (The whole obsession with Twilight novels has also totally died out)

So saying I think it’s a theme that will have a lot of millennials drooling over.

My 8 year old and 13 both love harry potter, the 8 year old obsessed with it as well as others kids in her age group. I was very surprised they where, I like the films but it's not something around in the house prior to there love of it. My love of star wars is the quickest way to get the kids out of the room, I used to put the film on , they would leave.

It's surprisingly resilient, my kids read all the books of their own back zero encouragement from me, in fact one of my kids thought i couldn't read because the never seen me with a book 🤣🤭

I obviously encourage them to read 👍

That’s really different to my experience with it. Maybe there is a big race/ethnicity element going on as well.

15 years ago you couldn’t walk into a class without one of the girls either reading one of the books or talking about a film. Now absolutely nada.

Wasn’t Ian McKellen in HP as one of the wizards? He came into the school about six years ago for an event and the kids had no idea who he was 😱

Similarly Jacqueline Wilson used to be the go to for all the teenage girls and now maybe a very occasional mention of “the dumping ground” show but never the book.

It's possible, I've had to take my kids to the harry potter experience it was absolutely packed you couldn't move, this was only 3 years ago ISH, so it had been open a long time. So there still a massive demand for it, especially as universal in Florida have recently extended harry potter land.

No he was xmen and lord of the rings.🤭😄 Which might explain lack of interest, they would recognise him any way behind a massive helmet and a hat and beard.🤭

Harry potter isn't like twighlight that was a phenomenon, but the books are poorly written 💩 and zero interest to any kids I know.

My oldest is obsessed with wildcats I think that's what it's called, tried to read it once 🤮 🤭

Dollar rates dropping pound up, maybe the glory days of $2 to the pound happens by the time potter hits our shores next year, potter still ends up being £12k

😉
